Hi, Im currently trying to decide which pram is the best to go for. Im looking for a pram which has a carry cot, car seat, and also a pushchair facing towards and away from me!!

I quite like the quinny buzz, the Mamas and papas Herbie, and the Silvercross 3d pram system, or Silver Cross Linear freeway

Can anyone recommend any of the above, or can you recommend any others?

Im very confused!!!

Thanks ;)

I wanted a pram with all that and have just got an Icandy Cherry, which is fab!

Having got sick of Mothercare and their lack of specialist knowlege I went to Ann's Prams in Petersfield (also online annsprams.co.uk) with a list of what I wanted the pram to be able to do and what I really didn't want (a pink pram) and they looked at this list and showed me three that fitted the bill.

I really can't praise them enough. If you're within driving distance go and see them, otherwise visit their website (no, I'm not on commission!)

I wanted all those things and also went for the i-candy cherry. It hasn't been delivered yet so I can't give you a review but it was certainly the best I tried out in the store. It's similar to the Bugaboo Bee but a larger seat in pushchair mode (I think the Bee is ridiculously small) and you get things like raincovers included instead of having to pay out extra for the Bugaboo ones.

I went to A3 Baby Barn in Surbiton - the people there are absolutely fantastic. They will let you try all the prams and only stock what they believe to be excellent products. We ended up buying a car seat and some other items from them too, not because they were pushy, in fact they were the opposite, but just because we got such great service we wanted to support them.

I'm not on commission either !

I want a pram/pushchair (as long as it is suitable from birth) that can be forward and rear facing but not too expensive (this is 3rd and final baby).

McDreamy · 26/08/2008 12:01

I have been looking at Kiddicare on line but I am moving to a ten near Aylesbury if anyone knows of any good shops there!

scottishmummy · 26/08/2008 12:02

Look at britax vigouravailable as 3 wheeler too

wontbepreggersagain · 26/08/2008 12:04

just to throw in another one- mia moda- co mes as 3 or 4 wheeler, car seat and base and carrycot avaliable, faces both ways and is very similar to maxi cosi mura models.

Snozzberry · 06/09/2008 23:47

The Silver Cross 3D is awful. My daughter has outgrown the pram at only a month old (she is a big baby), the raincover is worse than useless and the brakes regularly slip off.

I'm going to put mine on eBay - I've been window shopping for a replacement today and will be buying a Mamas & Papas Luna tomorrow morning!

Reginaphilangy · 07/09/2008 00:13

I have the silver cross linear freeway and i can't recommend it enough!

Its a lovely lovely pram that is sturdy, very well made and very comfortable. Its a little heavy and has to be separated into 2 parts to fit into the car, but that doesn't bother me at all.

Bugaboo Bugaboo Bugaboo

I know they're pricey but I've had 2 kids (and pg with the 3rd) and WOULD NOT consider anywthing else.
In the past I've had 2 Mamas and Papas travel systems (flimsy rubbish), a Graco one (heavy and rubbish, also squeaked annoyingly) and a McLaren for when they were older (fab, but best for over 1 year in my opinion).

I bought my (beloved) Bugaboo when DD2 was about 6 months old as couldn't bear the horrid Mamas and Papas MPX travel system thing any longer (plus DD shrieked as soon as put in it and would never sleep in it either).
So paid the money (reluctantly) for the Bugaboo and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.
Can push it with one hand, it is so, so comfy (DD deigns to sleep for up to 2 hours in it so it must be !) it looks good and is easy to fold and open up . Plus if you buy one now they have brought out a new chassis which is easier to use (apparently) although I have no probs with my 18month old one). Love it so much I still use it and DD is nearly 2 and don't bother with the McLaren except on holiday.
Bugaboos are pricey but well worth it IMO.
I coud go on but it would get v boring. If you can afford one, get one is my advice. Cool colours etc too

frazzledoldbag34 · 07/09/2008 09:54

Sorry - didn't specifiy which Bugaboo duh! pregnancy brain!

Bugaboo Cameleon.
(not keen on the look of the bee)

Cameleon all the way !!!

frazzledoldbag34 · 07/09/2008 09:57

And when this new baby is born I might update the colour of this one and buy new fabrics but that's all. As I said, IMHO its the perfect buggy (and I've had quite a few, spoken to friends and most agree)....those with the Cameleon all agree therre is no need for anything else! They don't even have McLarens and one of them still has her 3 year old in the Bugaboo.
I should be on commission!!!!!

wombleprincess · 08/09/2008 14:48

any stokke users lurking?

fleacircus · 08/09/2008 14:50

I love my Stokke Xplory, it's fantastic.

fleacircus · 08/09/2008 14:52

DD is high up, the pram bit was great and we used it as a travel cot for the first four months as well. Now she's in the seat, can face us or out, reclines three positions facing us, two facing out, we use it as a highchair when we're out and about. It's very easy to manouevre and the flicky flacky wheels thing is fabulous, makes steps easy peasy and even feels completely safe on escalators.

GreenMonkies · 08/09/2008 14:54

How about a nice sling?

Cheaper, easier to transport in the car, baby will love it and you can breastfeed on-the-go with it and use it for years, my 5 year old had a huggababy-piggyback the other week!

(I do have a cossatto rear facing pram too, but rarely use it as the sling is so much easier!)

fleacircus · 08/09/2008 14:55

People comment on it everywhere we go as well, it looks like a space pod. And it's compatible with the Maxi Cosi carseat.

nappyaddict · 09/09/2008 17:13

the herbie is a bit crap to steer.

the problem with a lot of pushchairs is they are only from birth with a carrycot but most babies outgrow the carrycot before 6 months.

examples are the xplory, nipabout, buzz, hauck infinity, city elite, icandy cherry, bugaboo (not the bee), fisher price voyager, britax vigour, loola, streety, bebe confort opera etc

I like to have one big pushchair for walking and a smaller one for the car. The big ones i like are: traxx ecuador, mutsy, mamas and papas skate, urban detour quantum, maxi cosi mura, gesslein f2, gesslein future, gesslein vision s, mia moda allegria

The small ones i like are: the petite star whirl, luna, baby jogger city mini, bugaboo bee.

DartmoorMama · 09/09/2008 17:22

Mutsy 4 rider-does everything you want plus has a clever toddler seat which is like a trike which is truely unique.

toomuchtimeonline · 10/09/2008 11:20

For those with the bugaboo - when did the new chasis come in?

Madigan · 10/09/2008 11:54

I am due with no 2 in March, when DD will be 19 months old. What 2 seater buggy do people recommend? And I should I go for side-by side- or one of those with toddler stuck underneath (don't look great ...). I have a mountain buggy at the moment - totally fantastic ... but realise I am going to need to buy a new one for when baby arrives. any suggestions?

Pinkjenny · 10/09/2008 11:57

I have the Bugaboo Chameleon with the old chassis. It's a bit faffy, but I love it. Dd has grown to love it. But make sure it fits in your boot! We had to buy a second pram for my mum as the Bugaboo is too big for her boot.

what age can they stand on a buggy board? sorry, do not have a clue about any of this ....
thing is I do like going out and about for fairly long periods, and not sure that DD would be happy standing/walking for all that time ... think would prefer option of 2 seater .......
