You know when you are having those 'can't remember when I felt it move' moments

What do you do to wake your baby up?

drink coffee? icy drinks?

Just wondering

ice cold full-fat coca cola. works every time.

pinkspottywellies · 18/08/2008 16:33

The hospital told me to lie down quietly and drink a large glass of really cold water (ie full glass of ice with water in!) and it worked.

NoBiggy · 18/08/2008 16:34

It was a while back, but a bath was always a good time for movements to happen. And an ice cold McDonald's milk shake really got her jumping.

Niecie · 18/08/2008 16:34

Gave my tummy a good jiggle and a bit of a poke.

Chocolate is a good one too.

filthymindedvixen · 18/08/2008 16:35

mine used to go mad if i was typing at a keyboard...

OneBoyOneGirl · 18/08/2008 16:35

a bath used to work for me.

BroccoliSpears · 18/08/2008 16:36

I used to poke him. He would poke back.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/08/2008 16:38

Ice cold, full fat coke.

A good poke gets a response 99% of the time.

Laying down on my left side (best position for placental blood flow) and being still for a while.

jenpet · 18/08/2008 16:40

Any cold drink - also for me, when I do my pelvic floor exercises it seems to make him jiggle quite a bit!

Mercy · 18/08/2008 16:42

Loud music

belgo · 18/08/2008 16:42

my two little girls yell down my belly button. That usually wakes him/her up.

sleeplessinseatle · 18/08/2008 16:43

mmmm, full fat coke has been my pregnancy craving (bad mother I know)

I just had an iced frappe coffee drink and baby moved. hurrah! I couldnt remember when it last kicked so feel better now

really cold drinks

or fizzy

or just lie down

or have a bath

dinkystinky · 18/08/2008 17:05

milky drinks drove my DS hyper - that and a lie down listening to certain music (liked pop, hated classical)

Helen16 · 18/08/2008 20:29

Bath was the time mine always used to move around. Have one at the time you would usually feel it move if possible.

Goober · 18/08/2008 20:31

Mars bar

bikerunski · 18/08/2008 20:57

Chewing ice cubes, or water from a water cooler.

babyOcho · 18/08/2008 21:00

take a bath

star6 · 18/08/2008 21:51

Ice cold water or juice!!
Bananas
Anything sweet (as I don't usually eat sweets)

MrsMattie · 18/08/2008 21:52

Drink a cold sugary drink and then lie down on my side. Usually works.

Lionstar · 18/08/2008 21:52

ice-cream

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 18/08/2008 21:54

drink cold stuff

Romy7 · 18/08/2008 21:58

balancing a cup of tea on bump.

balancing a cold drink on bump.

bath - actually, it got so i couldn't bath, because the wrestling was making me feel too queasy. it was like he was trying to fight his way out (which he ultimately did)

labour with ds1. the midwife eyed the writhing mass that was my bump and said 'goodness. has baby been like that all the time? normally they calm down when the uterus is contracting' and eyed me suspiciously over her horn rims.

babylove123 · 19/08/2008 10:54

Not a good choice but a few glugs of red bull - she goes nuts for 15 mins then back to sleep! Dont do it often though!!!!

Romy7 · 19/08/2008 12:12

eek! in canada they freak out totally about caffeine and the risk of strokes in utero! it puts red flags all over your notes if you confess to having more than a couple of cups of coffee - they would probably keel over if you even mentioned red bull lol!
