any advice? a moses basket is too big and would really look silly in the office
its quiet and risk free in here (no chance of falling objects or people walking by)

Only trouble with the P&T Cocoon is that isn't very long, current maternity baby is average for height and out grew it in 10 weeks, up till then it was great for moving her around without disturbing her.

girlsallaround · 05/08/2008 17:40

butterfly do you have a phil and ted's buggy?
is it useful?

yes VERY!

DS Is just 3 weeks old and we have used it most days - well worth it

MatNanPlus · 05/08/2008 17:45

P&T is great.

MmeLindt · 05/08/2008 17:58

What about something like this. Not really very office like but at least you can use ti for longer than the first few months.

MatNanPlus · 05/08/2008 20:30

Did you mean this MmeLindt?

MmeLindt · 05/08/2008 21:39

Argh, stupid Baby Walz, you cannot link to a specific page. Will try again.

this goes flat to become a blanket.

or this

MatNanPlus · 05/08/2008 22:48

www.baby-walz.com/SyEngine.php?Act=97554&Do=97713&_SSL=0&pNummer=628255&pGruppe=684&pRubrik=6 61&pHerkunft=teaser Here it ism seems the website times out after a bit comes in rabbit, bear and elephant designs, cool

nice

MatNanPlus · 05/08/2008 22:49

You need to copy and paste first one to see but very like the first one MmeLindt did above

MatNanPlus · 05/08/2008 22:50

Used one similar to the seesaw block and it was great.

littleducks · 05/08/2008 23:03

i have a phil and teds cocoon it is good but the verbaudet thing looks good as it has a hood

but it didnt last long as ds got too big

littleducks · 05/08/2008 23:08

I think phil and teds is great as a double but doesnt crack it as a single, i find the front seat a pita to adjust the recline, simply cant do it with a baby in unlike my techno xt.

i have the sport which has a rubbish hood, too small to be a sunshade of any kind and not waterproof so no good in a shower

tweeni · 05/08/2008 23:11

can the baby not just sleep in his/her pram?

tweeni · 05/08/2008 23:22

love it!!

see saw thing also looks good.

does the P&T cocoon lie completely flat?

mothercare beanbag

MatNanPlus · 06/08/2008 07:55

Yes Tweeni P&T Cocoon is flat.

used a doomoo and the 5month old wriggled enough to tip it sideways, been wary of using ever since but lovely and cozy for tiny, looks much more inviting that a huge chair.

MatNanPlus · 06/08/2008 07:55

The Mothercare one looks wider so more stable.

tweeni · 06/08/2008 11:13

I can't work out if the mothercare one is flat though.

looking at this on the bird's eye view photo if looks flat but on the side on photo it doesn't.

ZacharyQuack · 06/08/2008 11:33

How about the Phil and Teds travel cot

It might be a bit too big, but it will last for longer than a cocoon or beanbag and can be used as a playpen. I had an earlier model and used it as a travel cot until DD was about 2yo.

MatNanPlus · 06/08/2008 12:58

Tweeni you can plump it up to a more sitting shape or flatten it for a lying posture.

nooname · 07/08/2008 09:35

A lie-flat car seat? (Jane do one.)

(I just have to say I am totally in that you can work with a newborn - ds didn't stop crying for 3 months, was constantly sick and wanted holding the whole time and only slept for 30 minute stretches - what if your next baby is like that?!!!)

nappyaddict · 07/08/2008 16:17

i had a lie flat car seat for ds but it didn't lie completely flat so wouldn't have wanted him in it all day.

tyaca · 07/08/2008 19:21

dh bought the p&t cocoon cause he liked the looked of it.

we figured it was prob a waste of money but turned out to be best thing we bought for dd. she is now five months and have only just started putting her to sleep in cot without it. saying that we were at my parents this week and used on floor instead of a travel cot so still getting some use out of it. she is bang on 50th percentile for length so should last a while. we put a moses basket matress in it - perfect fit and wouldnt have had her in it for long periods of time without it.

morningpaper · 07/08/2008 19:28

This is the weirdest thing I have ever heard

I dont' know anyone who does anything like this or who isn't spending 20 hours a day jiggling a newborn hysterically

Who HAS these sorts of babies? I'm utterly baffled

I want PICTURES

nappyaddict · 07/08/2008 20:36

ds was one of those babies he just slept and ate until he was about six months
