Hi everyone, I've recently found out after 4 cycles of trying to conceive that I am pregnant at 37. I have two other children aged 14 and 11 so this will be my first child in my 30s. I'm feeling particularly tired this time around and was wondering if any other older mothers have struggled more with symptoms during a later pregnancy? I'm feeling very blessed to have gotten pregnant and this will be my first child with my fiance ❤️ would be nice to have mother's of a similar age to connect with x

I had my first two in my 20s and then my last at 39.
No regrets - birth all good (at home), very supportive husband over toddler years etc and I can't say I noticed a huge difference in tiredness between being a mum in my 20s and my 40s.
However..what I didn't really think about is peri/menopause with a young child. I'm now 45 and definitely more tired recently, and juggling work and home life isn't always easy at the best of times! And the insomnia can be grim! But then, I suppose peri can be quite hard in itself?

I don't need to look at that. I'm comfortable with my age. I certainly don't look it at least 😊

Well you’re harping on about feeling so tired and feeling ‘middle aged’ so clearly there is likely a health issue here. Whether it’s deficiencies, pregnancy related illness or something else, probably minor, I don’t think 37 is a grand old age to pin these feelings on. Your looks are irrelevant!

I had mine at 41 and 43 so nothing to compare but I don’t think my pregnancies were any different from most. I did develop type 1 diabetes with first one but I had no symptoms. Most of my friends had children in their 40s (oldest 46), all but one conceived naturally. My kids are 20 and 22 now. I’m sure it keeps me younger than if I was dealing with grandkids!

Average age of mothers at birth in the Uk is 30 years old. I really wouldn’t worry about being late 30s

Where i am you are only considered high risk if aged 45 or older at conception ( we do get a few who have done IVF) good luck OP x

I’m 40 and midway through my pregnancy. I have found it incredibly easy so far, I don’t say this to brag, but more to say some pregnancies are easy, some are difficult. I don’t think it is your age, more just luck of the draw.
