Morning all. Currently 6.5 weeks pregnant with my second DC. DC1 is five I have just turned 40.

I remember feeling rubbish with DC1 but not to this extent. I am not ever actually sick. I just feel sick all day and all night. The only relief I get is when I eat and then it’s only brief because immediately after eating I feel sick again.

Trying to continue on with normal life and work and not let on I’m pregnant is so hard.

I'm terrified I might have another 6 weeks of this .
Does anyone have any remedies that worked for them; currently wearing anti sickness bands when I can. Sipping a ginger drink and trying to have snacks with me at all times, it’s so hard

I’ve felt the same. Feeling sick all day but no sick . I got some tablets off the docs takes the edge of a little but pretty useless. I’m 12 weeks and have been dry heaving this morning for the first time. Still no actual sick though. I thought it was supposed to get better around 12 weeks 😔

Strawberrygingerbread · 11/12/2025 09:33

Gradually got better from 13 weeks ish but not totally gone until 20 weeks.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 11/12/2025 09:34

I dramatically improved around 12 weeks.
Ginger nut biscuits were helpful.

Leavemealone1986 · 11/12/2025 09:36

Till I gave birth (both pregnancies). But I was sick as well. I actually think the feeling sick was worse than being sick. Nothing really helped. I had small snacks rather than meals and kept sipping water which probably made it slightly easier.

Kit40 · 11/12/2025 09:55

Omg you could be me, im slightly further along (9 weeks) but also 40 and have a 5 year old. My nausea is definitely worse this time and i think having an active 5 year old doesnt help! No real advice, just want you to know youre not the only one! X

mondaytosunday · 11/12/2025 10:05

It got better after I had my baby! Nothing I tried worked so just put up with it.

Chocolatebutton84 · 11/12/2025 10:08

Xonvea from the doctor has been a game changer for me!!

Dulcie6 · 11/12/2025 10:11

13/14 weeks I think

Herewegoagain85 · 11/12/2025 13:50

I'm 6.5 weeks too and also feel the same. This morning I was worrying as I didn't feel as sick, and now I'm kicking myself lol. I think the added challenge is that it makes you feel quite low, like when you're sick with a cold / virus. So it's not just the physical sensation but also the mental heaviness? I do remember it starting to improve from 10/11 weeks last time...gone completely by 16 weeks (as in no nausea at any point in the day).

LookAtMeWithStarryEyes · 11/12/2025 13:52

I felt nauseous until 14 weeks with my second, but then felt amazing. I hope it goes away soon. 🤞

Ah I’m so glad I’m not the only one! Having a 5 year old certainly does not help. Last time I was pregnant we went into lockdown so I didn’t have to go to work and had no child so think it was much easier to cope

I really relate to the low feeling. I feel miserable

14-16 weeks it became manageable. Improved further until about 22 weeks, and worsened but still manageable in 3rd trimester. Felt sick until I gave birth but the only hellish but was 1st trimester. I'm sure I had HG in all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get better end of first trimester though and medication is available if your are struggling.

Girlygal · 11/12/2025 17:44

The nausea didn’t stop until I gave birth

Same, I’m nearly 9 weeks and feeling much better on xonvea

me24x · 11/12/2025 18:54

DD 16 weeks
DS 19/20weeks
I didn’t take them but my friend got prescribed anti nausea meds from GP and said they stopped it immediately

Sickallday · 11/12/2025 19:39

will they give Xonvea just for feeling sick? I’m really tempted to visit gp as I am miserable

Mine tends to wear off at around 17 weeks. Ended up getting meds from docs with last pregnancy. Defo took the edge off the naseau feeling. Hot water and fresh lemon helped a little too.

everdine · 11/12/2025 19:45

With my first it stopped at 4 months and with my second it stopped at 7 months. I lost weight with my second and never really looked pregnant. When I look at photos I look quite gaunt!

EmeraldDreams73 · 11/12/2025 19:59

With dd1, I felt hideously sick until a MONTH after her birth. Midwives said all the way through "it'll be better at 12 weeks/20 weeks/once it's born". I never actually threw up though I spent loads of time wishing I could, to feel better!

Dd2, less severe but still nauseous on and off right the way through.

I hope you're feeling better soon, it's horrible. 💐

Same here. I could hardly keep anything down for the whole 9 months to the extent the hospital were concerned about my weight. As soon as I gave birth I was craving a bacon sandwich.

Eeebee14 · 12/12/2025 11:55

I was nauseous from about 5/6 weeks to about 8/9 weeks. I kept a dry snack by my bed for the morning. Also bought sea sickness bands which took the edge off too. Obviously go to the GP and get some meds if it's really bad.

AmberRose26 · 12/12/2025 13:44

Mine ramped up at 7 weeks, nausea / food aversion and cravings ie I could only eat what I felt in the mood for that day .. or hour .. it changed so quickly to wanting something to then that something making me nauseous. Only 3 of the days I was actually vomiting and when I did I was in bed all day not able to get up only for toilet and could only sip water or eat grapes .. grapes and Greek yogurt have been my savour when feeling really bad as was the only thing I could stomach .. 11 weeks today and it dropped off about two days ago .. just suddenly stopped and I feel totally normal now ..🤷🏼‍♀️ Hope thats a good sign 😵‍💫

hope it eases up for you soon 🧡

Sickallday · 12/12/2025 13:46

Thanks everyone. Hardly left my bed today as I feel so rough . I am going to try and talk to the gp as I don’t want to miss DCs Christmas Day

With my youngest, about a week after I gave birth!

With the other three, by about 12 weeks.
