Anyone else pregnant and going to Glastonbury Festival this year? I just got my ticket this morning! I'm 23+1 weeks now so will be bumpilicious at the end of the month and I had a sudden panic about falling over in the mud. (Please god let the weather not be like last year...)

Anyone got any good tips? Anyone else going too? Would love to hear from you

Last year I took a tripod stool because I was sick of carrying a chair around and it wasn't nearly supportive enough - and that was without being PG and without my newly sprouted big flobbery bottom! Deffo need something with a back to lean on ... This year we've borrowed some mini chairs from my brother, which have the back support but aren't as cumbersome as the ones you usually get

You'll have a great time - I went when 18 weeks pregnant with dd and loved it. Got a bit tired at times but probably spent more time on the other stuff rather than the music as a result. Although did spend a lot of time on the sofas in a jazz tent!

Wow, there are some really good tips here, thanks people! I'm sure there are other festival-goers out there who can make us of them too.

madmouse and gilly - I'm printing off your lists! Gilly, I saw a thread on e-festivals and one woman is going to Glasto and she'll be 38 weeks too! Maybe she'll give birth there...

I'm definitely taking my mini-chair that I got from M&S last year but will check how supportive it is as maybe I'll need the big one. Good tip about the car parks off the M5 as well glastochick

hairybabysmum I'm going to V this year - how does the disabled toilets work? You need a key or ask a security guard?

I'll be 27 weeks prego when I'll go, the midwife told me to be careful not being squashed by people in the crowd?

Gillythekid - Thanks for your list! That's very helpful!!

If I didn't have this SPD mularkey I'd be there too, giving birth in a mud pool.

Do you think if you give birth there your baby will have free entry to Glastonbury for life?! My DP is from Brazil and he heard of a woman who gave birth on a bus and the child got free bus travel for ever!!!

I know a girl who was born at Glastonbury, she's in her 30's now and has no special treatment!

jennylindinha · 05/06/2008 17:24

Doh! That's so unfair - you'd think that she would be a special member of the Eavis's extended family or something... Ah well, at least she can celebrate her birthday in style every year!

oooh good luck for the weather and like you say lets hope its rather better than the mud fest last year!

Take an empty fabric conditioner bottle with you as your "en-suite" - easily sealable and no wee smell to pervade your tent! I used a Fairy non-concentrated softener bottle last year (had a nice big neck on the bottle!) and DH took it with him to the mens to empty it when he went for his morning wee
