Enoxaparin Success Stories

Sunshine1621 · 27/05/2025 16:25

Hi I'm currently 5weeks and 4 days. I've been prescribed enoxaparin / blood thinners alongside 75mg of aspirin for suspected blood clotting issues. I've had recurrent miscarriage in the past.

Does anyone have any success stories using it after recurrent miscarriage?

OP posts:
Sweetpeasx · 09/06/2025 23:08

No but I have also been prescribed that and 150mg of aspirin. Also history of recurrent miscarriage.

how you doing so far?

Sunshine1621 · 10/06/2025 04:34

I'm doing ok @Sweetpeasx . I have a scan later this week to see how things are progressing.

I also wanted them to give me Progesterone but I haven't managed to get that.

Ahh, I was prescribed 75mg of aspirin. How many weeks are you and how are things feeling?

OP posts:
Sweetpeasx · 10/06/2025 21:03

I’m very early 4w3d. Been prescribed progesterone privately. As the nhs wouldn’t give it to even with 3 recurrent miscarriages

hope your scan goes well. I’m currently doing serial hcg testing and will have first scan in two weeks

With your 3 recurrent miscarriages have you tried being referred to Tommy's through your GP?

Are you based in the UK?

That's how I managed to get my progesterone, blood thinners and aspirin.

Hi, I’ve had 6 pregnancies, 2 to full term and currently 16 weeks with my third. The three successful pregnancies have been whilst taking enoxaparin. Good luck! X

belleoz · 11/06/2025 19:54

(Was also taking progesterone twice daily)

yeah Im uk based I was referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic but the wait is 6months and I haven’t been seen yet. Prior to getting pregnant again I did some private testing which help me get the enxoparin and aspirin.

they didn’t want to start me on cyclones till six weeks but the private gynaecologist said that’s silly confirmed sac and hcg so said I could start

Sweetpeasx · 11/06/2025 21:36

@belleoz this makes me feel so much better . Wishing you a healthy pregnancy

I'm really sorry to hear this. My wait was 1 year for the recurrent Miscarriage clinic which was absolutely ridiculous. I really do think the wait is so long. Sorry you're having to deal with that.

Regardless you did the right thing getting privately tested.

Truly am routing for things to go well for you 🙂

Yes me, I had 3 losses then prescribed enaxoparin and asprin and now have one DC and another on the way. If they found a blood clotting issue, this treatment works!

Thank you for sharing. Could I ask what dose of aspirin were you on to take? 75mg of higher?

how long did you take enoxaparin for? I recently been told I can stop at 12weeks

When I had clexane injections after miscarriages I had to use them the whole 9 months plus six weeks after delivery. I don't see the point of stopping at 12 weeks. If you have a blood clotting disorder that puts you at higher risk of fetal growth restriction and placenta issues, so staying on the blood thinners can protect against this.

Hi sweatpeas. I started bleeding on 7th June at 7 weeks. However this doesn't have to be your story.

I would really like to know how things go for you next week if youd share becusee it's my first time being on the blood thinners and this miscarriage happened earlier than all my previous. Id like the encouragement to continue it for my future pregnancies when I hear other people's outcomes on it.

Truly hope your scan and testing goes well. Routing for its success.

@katand2kits because I’ve only had one positive bloods they said only 12 weeks which makes me scared

I’m so sorry for your loss, and thank you for being so open in sharing your experience. It really helps to hear from others going through similar things. I’ll definitely share an update after my scan next week.

This is my first time on blood thinners too, so I completely understand wanting to hear how it’s goes for others . I truly hope your future pregnancies go well and that you get the reassurance and outcome you’re hoping for. Sending warm thoughts your way.💛

I'm also on clexane 40mg, twice daily cyclogest pessaries, and 75mg aspirin.

This is my 8th pregnancy with no surviving babies. 2 biochemical losses and 5 clinical between 7-9 weeks. The recurrent miscarriage clinic has let me down time and time again. I made the decision to investigate privately in December and while we didn't find specific answers through blood work or scans, the doctor did identify a potential blood clotting concern. I shared these results with the clinic in December, got a call back in March with them basically saying when they did their tests everything was normal and the results of my private test did not match with how they would interpret results. They agreed to retest my blood using their tests... Still waiting on that appointment to come through, though I did get a copy of the dictated March phone conversation earlier this month. (Insert eye roll here)

So when I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago (I'm 5w6d today), I reached out to the private doctor to write me a prescription as she let me know when I saw her in December this was something she would do based on my history and the results of my blood work. Consultation with her was £120, prescription note was £20. Filling the prescription for 8 weeks of pessaries and 8 weeks of clexane was £408. I have also booked a scan for this Wednesday (I'll be 6w2d) with the same private doctors clinic as the NHS will not scan me until 3 weeks from positive pregnancy test. Confirming my pregnancy is in the right place and developing is very important when taking progesterone so I didn't feel waiting the extra week was something I should do.

I'm sharing all the financial details for anyone that finds their care with the NHS to be beyond lacking so you have an idea of the financial burden of going private. One of those I can't really afford to do this, but I can't afford not to situations.

I'll let you know how my scan goes Wednesday.

Babycatsarenice · 22/06/2025 22:30

@JunkJane this is shocking from the recurrent miscarriage however it's great that you took things into your own hands and investigated. Thanks for sharing as I'm sure it'll help someone.
