@vanillaiceice i had GD in my previous pregnancy and also this one. Last time, I accepted they would induce me early but then needed it due to PPROM rather than GD, but this time I’ve refused any intervention until 40+5 following the NICE guidelines.

If you don’t want an induction, you can push back and accept alternatives (additional monitoring and scans) but they don’t want to do that usually as it’s more expensive than inductions.
Some babies will naturally be bigger or the centile chart wouldn’t work, and scans can be off (mine overestimated my son’s weight by 1.5lbs). So do what is right for you as I feel like they love pushing inductions when baby might not be ready.

Yes they wanted to induce me couple days ago but I didn’t want.
but when they rescanned me they were mentioning that my placenta is looking mature so they wouldn’t recommend me waiting too much longer anyways so we gave it till Sunday.
I wouldnt want to take any risks so let’s see Sunday 🙂

This might be a really silly question but is everyone buying a coat for their newborn? I'm not sure if theyre supposed wear them when out and about in the pram? Obvs won't be using one for in the car.

LilyJessie · 22/11/2024 13:08

@Bluesea14 I've got a pram suit, not a coat for new born, but now I'm not sure haha.

OnNaturesCourse · 22/11/2024 13:35

Quick question... And a rather TMI one...

Has anyone been having egg white stringy discharge, like ovulation discharge?

I can't remember having this in my other pregnancies but that seems to be the norm for this one as nothing has been like the others so far!

Also had the slightist brown tinge to it, I'm talking ridiculously slight and there was no more brown when I wiped (it was on a liner) but plenty more of the egg white stuff came away.

Doesn't look mucus plug like.

Has anyone else had this towards the end?

CatCaretaker · 22/11/2024 18:00

@Bluesea14 no, I just have pram suits too, not a coat per se, but it probably depends on preference? I really don't know, first baby ...

@OnNaturesCourse no, but I'm only 34 weeks, maybe not close enough yet?

OP posts:
Lunamoon23 · 22/11/2024 19:19

@Bluesea14 I've got a couple pramsuits, but no coat.

@OnNaturesCourse yes, I've had alot of white looking discharge (36weeks+5) not brown tinge though. I've been having this for weeks though alongside clear discharge x

Lunamoon23 · 22/11/2024 20:41

But of a strange one... but does anyone else's private parts feel bruised?? I feel super tender down below. On the muscle parts. Had it for over a week now, don't know if it's because of pressure or whatever.. feels heavy and tender. X

MaybeBaby2024 · 22/11/2024 21:15

@Lunamoon23 yes I feel like that. Would say it probably is due to pressure.

So I managed to get a meeting with a consultant midwife today to discuss my birth choices and she was brilliant. She Is going to put it in my notes that the risks have been discussed with me and that I am suitable for the midwife led unit. So I feel a lot better, much more empowered!

OnNaturesCourse · 22/11/2024 22:59

@Lunamoon23 it's the pressure on your pelvic floor, that's the muscles you are feeling... under stress. It's pretty normal for this stage I believe. I get it if I've been really active.

Ah that makes sense!!
I'm on my feet all day at work so pretty active, plus squatting down a lot during the shift. Roll on Wednesday when I finish! 🥳

Best of luck @HelterSkelter224 !! You’ve got this x

HelterSkelter224 · 23/11/2024 02:42

False alarm 🤦‍♀️ agh

OnNaturesCourse · 23/11/2024 09:18

@HelterSkelter224 oh how frustrating! That happened in my 2nd pregnancy. Plus side he did appear about a week later by himself!

I had really bad back pain and period like aches last night but they've amounted to nothing!

HelterSkelter224 · 23/11/2024 10:10

@OnNaturesCourse thanks - I was having regular slightly crampy "contractions" but it didn't feel like labour, I was more worried about the no movement thing (all fine). It was the midwife's reaction when she came in and said "...baby's fine but it looks like you're having contractions".

2.5h wait to see doctor later she sent me home happy they were "tightening" not contractions, but baby's head is engaged and she was talking like baby could come any time so 🤞

Better do my hospital bag today 😬😬😬

I’m the same as you. Currently lying in bed feeling sorry for myself 😂

@HelterSkelter224

How far along are you?

How exciting

OnNaturesCourse · 23/11/2024 19:04

My turn tonight 😞

In with reduced movements. Baby sprung into action on the monitor. Monitor showing tightening of up to 60 (whatever that is..) but my blood pressure is quite high so now waiting on bloods coming back 😞

Oh no @OnNaturesCourse have you heard back yet about your blood pressure yet?

@RedRobyn2021 I'm 36w.

Twinkletwinklelil · 23/11/2024 21:02

Hi ladies
ive had quite the day..
been told im 2cm dilated this morning - but what does that even mean? Still could be days before we get into active labour?
any tips? Help?

HelterSkelter224 · 23/11/2024 23:00

Goodness @Twinkletwinklelil how are you feeling about that? It's hard to say exactly - I was 3 cm dilated and went on a week before eventually having to be induced for another reason, so it could mean things have started... or not 🤦‍♀️

Do you feel any other changes that might mean baby's on their way?

LilyJessie · 24/11/2024 00:13

@OnNaturesCourse are you okay? Xx

Twinkletwinklelil · 24/11/2024 00:47

@HelterSkelter224 gettjng contractions every now and then very far apart. That’s about it
im so ready for the baby to come lol. Exhausted!!

OnNaturesCourse · 24/11/2024 02:24

My bloods and urine all came back clear.
Blood pressure remained borderline high (bounced around 147/90 or there about)

They've given me blood pressure tablets.

Its brought it down but not by much.

Feel like my body has let us down.
