Hello, not sure if this is the right place to put this but dh and I are very indecisive and can't decide which buggy to buy - they both seem to have pros and cons. Would love comments from people who've got experience, positive or negative of either. Thanks so much xx

I bought the bugaboo but wish I had bought what my friend has which is the Quinny. The quinny is so much better in terms of weight, size and you can use the buggy bit from birth and it goes in the boot easier.

on the buzz the seat is only suitable from 6months as it has a bucket seat like the bugaboo

apart from that they are both very similar the bugaboo is lighter than the buzz and comes with most things such as the carrycot and the underseat basket, with the buzz you have buy these seperately

nappyaddict · 24/04/2008 09:32

i like the bugaboo bee

rascal1979 · 24/04/2008 09:33

Quinny!
The bugaboo comes with a carrycot but in my opinion isn't reallya carrycot as it isn't hardbodied like the Quinny carrycot. It is basically material velcroed on to the frame.

Also even tho you have to buy the Buzz carrycot seperately it is still cheaper than buying the Bugaboo.

I agree with rascal I used my pram bit 6 times. Although I do like the bugaboo bee much better than the Cameleon I had. My friends Quinny with all the attachments was cheaper than my bugaboo.

mustsleep · 24/04/2008 09:45

jesus justjules you have nearly convinced me to buy one and i already have my buggies ready for sept!!

grouphug · 24/04/2008 09:48

You having twins mustsleep?

mustsleep · 24/04/2008 10:02

no lol just having the one but have a bigger pram for walking etc or for a day out and a smaller one for public transport etc

Pinkjenny · 24/04/2008 10:04

I wouldn't recommend the Bugaboo at all.

grouphug · 24/04/2008 10:09

Good idea mustsleep, I took my bugaboo on the train for the first time yesterday...nightmare. Thinking about it you wouldn't get two buggies for twins anyway you'd get a two seater or how would you push them both lol.

Charliesmum22 · 24/04/2008 12:24

Would definately recommend the Bugaboo - I have one and love it! A friend has got the Quinny Buzz and struggles getting it up steps on her own, while I just fly by! It's so easy to use, and once you get the knack of folding it up then it's fab!

Becky77 · 24/04/2008 12:28

We bought the BUgaboo Bee... the main deciders were it is much narrower than the Buzz and it folds in one piece... The buzz would just take u too much room in our flat.

NikNakF · 24/04/2008 12:46

I think this thread shows how variable it all is! I have got the Quinny Buzz with cot/pram/seat/base/adapters/foot muff and though baby not here yet I love it.

That could of course change once I have the baby in it!

mustsleep · 24/04/2008 12:49

i loved my bugaboo but as you had to take the seat off it took up too much room and was awful in taxis etc

pregnancy1 · 24/04/2008 13:07

I have to admit that I haven't got either yet - I'm still in the process of doing research, but the big thing that put my off the Quinny was the handle height - they only go up to 109cm whilst the Chameleon goes up to 113cm. I'm only 5'10", but for some reason found that most pushchairs were too short for me - I know people who are a lot taller and have no issue, so I'd just make sure that you go for a walk round the shop with them first. plus the Chameleon is 3kg lighter and I'm a real weed......
it is good to hear about the Quinny though - I'll go and double check it again before I buy anything.

DiabloCody · 24/04/2008 13:10

I've got a quinny and you can extend the handle.

pregnancy1 · 24/04/2008 13:23

Yes, but even extended they aren't long enough for me (but to be fair, I'm talking generally - haven't tried the Quinny yet). I must be strangely out of proportion
I spent hours in mothercare & Mamas and Papas and soon learnt that they quickest way to see if a buggy was appropriate was to extend the handles.

spugs · 24/04/2008 13:25

i have a bugaboo cameleon and love it, i tried the buzz as well but when i put my toddler in it the seat unit was very narrow. also when it was in the rear facing position the seat unit doesnt sit bolt upright as it only has 2 seat positions when facing that way.

Catz · 24/04/2008 13:37

I have the Cameleon and love it (although I don't take it on buses etc - wouldn't have bought it if I had planned to). DD is 9 months and use it loads. Very light, easy to manoeuvre etc. We use it 'off road' a lot and it has no problems with rough ground but is easy to use in town. DD seems comfy and happy in it. She slept in the carry cot whenever we were away when she was little and seemed very comfy there too.

BUT I hardly used it until she was about 4/5 months (aside from her sleeping in it on hols). She hated being pushed around and was much much happier close to me in a sling. The sling was also far more convenient for me. If I was doing it again I'd get a sling to start with and then buy a pram/pushchair a bit later on when I had more of an idea of what I needed.

wellbalanced · 24/04/2008 18:27

I have had exp of both and i would say the Quinny hands down the chasis on the bugaboo (used 2 diff ones) was awful to collapse.

excitedfornumber2 · 24/04/2008 19:14

Hi

The quinny 2008 model can be used from birth with the pushchair, and looks very snug and comfortable, if you didnt want to go for the expense of the carrycot, although i have ordered everything, and as someone else on the thread said, i havent had my lo yet, and still really excited.

I have ordered mine from a local shop, although they do take internet orders, and they are very good, had everything from DS1 there too.
www.babyplanet.biz the buzz 4 is £519 with everything including footmuff

bogie · 24/04/2008 19:20

love my bugaboo chameleon but it is hard to fit in the car unless you have a huge boot
