Im current 37 +2 pregnant - I called the pregnancy advice line last weekend due to reduced movements and went in, I was put on the monitors and everything was fine while on the monitors however they sent me for an ultrasound scan on the Monday as it showed low fluid around the baby. I was then kept in hospital from Monday to Thursday with twice daily monitoring which were all fine except once night i didn’t feel any movements when on the monitor and one night the heart rate kept dropping to 80 in short periods then returning to normal and then re monitoring a few hours later done and the same happened with a few drops, the next monitoring in the morning was fine with no drops, I also had a scan again yesterday Thursday which showed that the fluid had increased to a normal level and everything on the scan was fine so I was discharged. However today I have felt no movements again all day and I becoming really worried about the lack of movements but also not wanting to go back again. Any advice?

How many weeks pregnant are you? Why don’t you want to go back? The advice is to go into hospital for reduced movements. It could be anything, can’t see, they can only monitor and scan.

JumpstartMondays · 23/08/2024 22:04

Go back. I wouldn't risk it. They won't mind, in fact would prefer it! And it would be better for you, baby and any anxiety around reduced movements.

Definitely go back.

if you haven’t felt any movements all day I would ring again, the unit won’t mind. They’re used to it. My baby used to have days where he barely moved and even when I was in labour he barely moved but he was absolutely fine.

Worriedmum2024xxx · 23/08/2024 22:07

I’m 37 weeks and 2 days and I don’t want to be the one who always goes in as I’ve been in 3 times already for reduced movements and feel they think I’m making it up as most times when I’m on the monitors he moves.

You have to go back. This is really important. Your__ only way of knowing if your baby is ok is movements and you haven't felt any and know there is a potential problem. Go now.

RightTrainer · 23/08/2024 22:08

Go back. Leave now and phone to say you’re on your way in and haven’t felt anything all day. They will always see you if things change.

Springadorable · 23/08/2024 22:08

I was in six times with my daughter. No issues noted until she was born and the placenta was small. So there was a problem, I was just lucky.

RightTrainer · 23/08/2024 22:09

You would rather go and check things out than regret not going in. Some people go in multiple times and that’s fine, who cares what they think and they know things change and people need seeing. Go in now and phone on the way in.

bluesheetsq · 23/08/2024 22:09

You need to go back to triage right now.

You've had decels on an antenatal ctg which is not normal whether it resolves or not.

You've now got absent movement.

Get in the car and go now, don't waste another second.

DuckDuckNo · 23/08/2024 22:09

Go in right away.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 23/08/2024 22:10

Go get checked. Every single time

bluesheetsq · 23/08/2024 22:11

I just feel the need to add this after reading your last line.

Sorry to say but your baby could be hypoxic or worse and you don't want to go back in?

Do you understand how serious what you're saying is?

I am a midwife. Go now.

RightTrainer · 23/08/2024 22:12

Seriously lovely, it’s ok to worry and to be concerned what people thinks when we can tell you you shouldn’t. But get in the car and go in and phone on the way there. Absent movement is alot different from reduced movement and you’ve had prior issues, they will want to see you ASAP

RightTrainer · 23/08/2024 22:19

I hope you’re already in the car and on your way and on the phone saying you are coming in. We are all sending you our best wishes.

You won’t be “that person”. Some of us are scheduled to go in weekly to two clinics. 3 times at this stage isn’t that much, and even if you went in more, is indicating a recurring and consistent problem that needs to be addressed - not something about you.

Youthiswastedontheyoung · 23/08/2024 22:22

Go in. Even if the staff for one second thought you were being overcautious (which they won't) then so what? You and your baby matter more than anything ❤️

mammaCh · 23/08/2024 22:36

Definitely go back. It doesn't matter how many times.
This happened to me constantly the last few weeks. I felt an idiot keep going back... Drs then induced me 3 weeks early and found my placenta was severely damaged.

AugustRose · 23/08/2024 22:38

Please go back and get checked out.

Mischance · 23/08/2024 22:39

Advice is always to report lack of movement - always.

Nursemumma92 · 23/08/2024 22:40

Agree with PP, you need to call again and go back- if you've not felt movement all day then you really need to be checked. It is likely that they will want to induce you sooner rather at this point to make sure baby gets here safely. Wishing you and your baby well ❤️

CC222 · 23/08/2024 23:03

Go back. Don't hesitate to call and report reduced movements. It was a midwife that told me to call any time I'm concerned, even if it meant calling every day, and then calling again as soon as I got home from being checked at the hospital, if I had concerns. You're not a burden by calling again, and this is a risk you just can't take.
I know you must be absolutely exhausted, fed up with this worry and not being able to be at home and do all the million things you need to do and of course, going in again is the last thing you need. BUT, it might actually be what baby needs.
If in doubt, get checked 💕

KenAdam · 23/08/2024 23:06

Please go and get checked out. Rather you go there 100 times and all be fine than not go once and have the unthinkable happen.

Please just go.

Soberfutures · 23/08/2024 23:13

Please go in
Hopefully it is all ok but never worry about being "that mum"

OP speaking as a student midwife we would ALWAYS much rather see you. Please do go in you are never ever a bother. ❤️

Swollenandgrouchy · 23/08/2024 23:31

Go back. I went in several times with reduced movements with my second. All was well into the end but the most important thing is to go. Don’t worry about looking silly (like I did). If you are worried they should listen.
