Hi, so I had my daughter via c section 4 months ago due to a failed induction.... Prior to this i had 2 normal vaginal births. I regret so much listening to doctors and going ahead with the induction because I never wanted to have a c section.

I've just got a bfp and wondering how this is likely to go so soon....any stories?

I know the advice is to wait longer....but my time was running out for one more that I wanted before I'm 40. So I'm not looking for lectures just experiences please.

Thanks

You deliberately got pregnant when you had a c section just 4 months ago?

Glowingreviews · 15/08/2024 16:31

What’s a bpf.

Where did I lecture, or did you miss that there was none? Just couldn’t believe what I read so was simply checking I understood that correctly…

Congratulations @Anonaust 💚💚

I've not been in this situation myself but my friend has two babies born 10 months apart both via c section - she had two uncomplicated pregnancies / births / recoveries. She was encouraged to have a c section for the second, but I don't think they insisted.

Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!!

Viewfrommyhouse · 15/08/2024 16:40

VBACs are totally possible. Maybe you should've done a simple Google before trying to conceive again so soon though. It's recommend to wait AT LEAST 6 months, preferably a year or more before. I suspect you knew this but decided to risk it anyway.

Yes I did know this I'm asking for experiences from people that have done it sooner.

@Anonaust
Good luck. You'll always get one (or two so far) who know it all 🤭🤦‍♀️
I'm sure you will be fine xx

patsy999 · 15/08/2024 16:43

I had a c section in october, then another the following November. That went fine.
Congratulations.

Caffeineneedednow · 15/08/2024 16:43

Congratulations.

Most likely you will have increased monitoring and will probably be under the care of the consultant some what earlier in the pregnancy.

If you do go for a BAC they are possible but when I had my second almost 3 years after my first csection they insisted we come in at the first sign of labour and labour in hospital do they could monitor for any potential hemmorage. Didn't end up happening for us as we had an emergency csection earlier due to slow growth.
Good luck and you may want to contact a midwife early on just in case they need to increase monitoring

I know someone with DC 15 months apart, both c sections, no issues.

km9371 · 15/08/2024 16:43

@Anonaust it's very clear what you are asking, people on here can just get a bit direct / mean 💚

Thank you so much. People don't understand personal circumstances, I've suffered losses and I'm not getting any younger so I made the choice to start again this cycle and luckily caught straight away x

I had a section and I'm older as well so I fully understand feeling time ticking. I'm not sure anyone can really advise you properly on here because a lot depends on your individual section, how you've healed etc. I would be trying to ring your healthcare provider for advice given that you're still quite early on in your recovery post section. I know others are saying about vbac after section - it's possible but they may also decide baby needs to come earlier by section to protect you both. I think you're best getting advice and guidance from someone who knows your individual medical history so you have really clear information.

I hope all goes to plan for you though.

Please do direct me to the rules where it states that every comment must be of “construct input”, whatever that means, and any other comment must be banned.

I was going to advise the OP to listen to the doctors and take their lead around management and delivery to avoid any risks to both her and her unborn child but I didn’t actually want to post that as I was conscious that sounded like a lecture. But seeing as you’re governing this thread, there you go! Happy now?

Skippingropes · 15/08/2024 16:53

It does heighten the risk of complications to you and to baby, but hopefully you'll have a healthy pregnancy, plenty in the same situation do. Your midwife will be able to advise, you definitely aren't the first and won't be the last! Depending on Trust you might have extra checks and should be given extra guidance.

HaleyBrookeandPeyton · 15/08/2024 16:53

I had 2DC 12 months apart - both C sections. No problems at all - Im sure youll be fine.
