Is this definitely a baby girl?!

Hello, first time mummy to be and thought I would ask on here for more opinions. I’m attaching potty shot from the scan. On a Facebook nub theory group some people are saying the legs are too close together to tell. Our sonographer seemed very sure though, and of course they were looking for much longer and so were we.

We only have this one screenshot. I can’t tell if the darker bit near the leg is boy bits? Really want to know as we want to start buying pink!

Thank you

Looks like a girl to me. Classic 3 lines/hamburger.

MrsDTucker · 29/05/2024 09:15

I don't think anyone on MN can tell any better than a Sonograoher.

You’re very rude. I’m asking a question as I’m excited about our baby, not looking for someone to virtue signal. They’ll be loved if they are a boy or girl but I am really eager to find out for sure, as are many expecting parents.

She’s not gendering her baby, she’s wanting to know what sex her baby is…..

Gender your baby 😂😂😂 Aggressively. Am dying 😂

She's trying to find out the sex of her child.

Revelatio · 29/05/2024 09:27

She’s doing both. Asking what sex the baby is finding out the sex. Buying pink only if it is female is gendering it.

God forbid you put a baby girl in pink!

The literal violence!! 😂

Ok, I’ll buy pink for a boy. Come off it.
A boy can have pink clothes and wear dresses if he likes, but if I was having a baby boy I would be in the baby boy’s section. If I was having a girl, I’d be in the baby girl’s section. When they can tell me otherwise cool. I’m sorry if this offends anyone but I’m sure I’m not in the minority!

I wasn’t expecting to start such a heated debate over this one question 😫🤣 it’s a bit much for a Wednesday morning

Ignore them. There's strange people all over MN.

They don't appear in RL funnily enough.

I wasn’t the one talking about violence! I was just explaining that the OP is discussing both sex and gender. Put the baby in whatever you want, I don’t care!

And she’s entitled to paint her whole house pink if she so wishes….

I don’t think anyone is offended. You’re free to dress the baby how you like, pierce its ears, put a bow on its head, put them in an army camouflage tracksuit, etc.

Some people like gender typical clothes for babies, others like buying neutrals. It’s your preference, the baby doesn’t care.

I don’t think it is a huge problem personally. In fact I think there are hundreds of larger problems in the world that need dealing with first.

Nobody is talking about home decoration. I was just pointing out that the OP was indeed referring to sex and gender, not just sex.

You can call out both large and small things, I don’t think people should police what others feel and want to speak up about.

Personally I am not into pink for girls and blue for boys. I think it reinforces damaging gender stereotypes as they grow older. I want my son to feel he can wear what he wants, show emotion how he wants, and play with the toys he wants as a male, not feeling that he has to become a ‘girl’ in order not to be ostracised. I’ve seen it happen in schools and nurseries.

It might not be a big issue to you, but growing up and working in a male dominated environment I’ve seen how gender stereotypes negatively affect everyone and I want it to change for the next generation.

You just sound so daft.

OP, I had a similar shot. Definitely a girl.

Congratulations! Now you can let loose buying pink and frills n lace.. 🙄

With my Ds it was very obvious a boy and would be hard to miss ! He found the scan pic hilarious when he I showed him recently.

Okay, I respect that totally. What you are saying makes sense and it must be lovely for your son to be able to be who he is.

I’m not saying that’s wrong, though. Nowhere have I said anything other than, I want to find out so I can buy pink. I’m sure when your son was a baby you excitedly picked out some little blue outfits. Sure, if you saw something pink you might buy it, but I’d bet his wardrobe had every colour, right? It was just a turn of phrase I used, not pushing any stereotypes for my child or anyone elses
