Attending a concert at 26/27 weeks pregnant

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with number 3 and it’s come as a bit of a shock. First 2 took almost a year each time to conceive so I did not expect to find myself pregnant so quickly. Obviously baby is very wanted.

I have tickets to Taylor Swift the eras tour in June and I’ll be roughly 26/27 weeks (depending on what my 12 week scan says as I have no clue when I ovulated) and just wondering if anybody has attended a concert around this time of pregnancy or even later and if it was all okay?

It is seated so I will be able to sit down when necessary and will obviously drink lots too. Any advice? Positive stories? 🙈

You'll be fine seated. I saw the Smashing Pumpkins at 22 weeks and stood for most of it, further back than I'd usually stand but close enough to see the stage. I did have to go and sit down towards the end and missed a few songs, but at that time I didn't know I'd soon have full on terrible pelvic girdle pain and basically couldn't walk a couple of months later. So considering I had that and just didn't realise, I was fine with the gig.

howdoesyourgardengrowinmay · 09/01/2024 19:50

You'll need to be near a toilet 😶

frayble · 09/01/2024 19:54

I went to see Elton John last summer at 39 weeks pregnancy on the Saturday. I gave birth on the Sunday a week later!

Islandermummy · 09/01/2024 20:50

I went to a football match in a crowded stadium when I was 41 weeks pregnant. It was fun!

I think it would be a shame not to plan anything during your pregnancy for fear you'll be feeling rough. With luck you'll be feeling pretty good

Only caveat is if you suffer from hip pain etc. Did you have that in your previous pregnancies? Otherwise, crack on!

PickledScrump · 09/01/2024 21:17

I went to see busted at 34 weeks pregnant in a heatwave. Had seats but I stood and danced the whole way through. Just have plenty of water with you. You’ll be fine. Enjoy

boonpop98 · 09/01/2024 21:29

Im going to be 32 weeks when I go, as well as taking a 2 hour train and a one hour domestic flight to get there,
If all is well with my health and my doctor is happy with it I will be going

Nocoffeenotalkie · 10/01/2024 07:27

I have Taylor Swift tickets but will have a bf 1 month old now so don't think I can go anymore.
My husband will have to take my daughter on his own...he has no clue what he is in for 🤣

Echobelly · 10/01/2024 07:55

I think that's fine. I went to a squat rave when I was 5 months pg with my first. Didn't last all that long but it was fine!

HoppingPavlova · 10/01/2024 08:06

What on earth could be the problem with a concert where you have a seat should you want/need it? I went to concerts if the dates fell when I was pregnant with mine. Sure, I didn’t get mosh pit tix, just regular seating, what could be the issue?

The only thing I had an issue with when pregnant was one of those Lord of the Rings or Hobbit movies (think it was a LOTR). It went for eleventy billion hours and I was 39 weeks and to be honest sitting through it was a bit of a chore. There was a lot of shifting around in my seat and being thankful when it finally ended.

Chaiandtoast · 10/01/2024 08:07

I gave my tickets up because I’ll be 40 weeks, I was devastated but I didn’t want to risk it. I think my friends wouldn’t have enjoyed the night as much either, they wanted to get drunk and relax, and they’d have just been worrying about me.
i might not have found it to be such an easy decision if I wasn’t so late though!

megletthesecond · 10/01/2024 08:16

hop public transport crowding, heat, hip and back pain, small hard seating etc.

eurochick · 10/01/2024 09:21

If you've had two kids already surely you know how you are likely to feel at that stage?

Fwiw I went to one of the Hyde Park mini festivals at 32 weeks. It was great. I stayed away from drunken crowds. People let me jump the queue for the loos😄

Sa11yCinnamon · 10/01/2024 10:31

I've got Eras tickets for 2-3 weeks after my due date and in my head I'm still going 😂

PersephonePomegranate23 · 10/01/2024 10:34

It'll be fine! Not like you'll be in the middle of a mosh pit!

FreezyFord · 10/01/2024 10:35

Absolutely fine, I went to loads of stuff! Enjoy

I was in a mosh pit at a slipknot concert at 32 weeks pregnant once.

I stayed just outside of the actual moshing bit, but it was bloody brilliant (and my now almost grown up baby LOVES slipknot and we are going in December 🤣).

Ha I found this as I was googling if anyone had been to see Slipknot while pregnant 😂 I’ve booked standing tickets for December, completely forgetting we are planning to start TTC in May!

Still gonna go, if all goes to plan and I fall pregnant easily, do say hi if you see me waddling around 😁

RobinEllacotStrike · 26/02/2024 13:25

I saw Prince at o2 at 7.5 months. Lots of fun.

Fingers crossed for baby and for Slipknot.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, Slipknot fans are some of the best in the world and really look out for each other.

Enjoy.

Ah, thank you!

I said exactly that to DP; I feel safe as houses in any metal crowd, I won’t be throwing myself into the pit but I would feel safe lurking on the periphery on the floor Grin

ElderMillenials · 09/01/2024 17:38

Assuming no major issues with the pregnancy you'd be fine. Possibly a bit tired after but totally worth it.

I'd happily volunteer to take the tickets off your hands though 😜

I went to the football on my due date 🤣. Like you have a season ticket and it was how it fell.

If you feel well OP go for it, I took my bag and notes with me in case I needed something and spoke to the stewards so they knew

LucyT87 · 18/03/2024 11:35

I'll be going to the Eras Tour on 20 August at 25 weeks pregnant (all being well) so I'm happy to read so many positive replies!
I'm actually going solo so any Swifties who want to say hi or have a drink before, hit me up

TheCompactPussycat · 18/03/2024 11:39

Yes, a long time ago I went to a Bryan Adams concert at 38 weeks pregnant. All good.

Welp…I got pregnant first try and I’m due 3 days before Slipknot 😂😂😂😂 looks like it’s DP’s best friend’s lucky day! First baby so fully expect to still be pregnant on Slipknot day but I cannot risk going into labour there hahahah

CONGRATULATIONS 🎊

You must be absolutely over the moon.

Fuck it, still go, take some puppy pads and a wet floor sign with you and name your baby Corey.

Can you imagine the encouragement of a mosh pit full of metal heads chanting as you're in favour too 🤣

One way to get backstage I suppose.

PeaceOnThePorch · 20/04/2024 14:47

You’re in seated so you’ll be absolutely fine. In both my pregnancies I went to quite a few concerts right up to 36 weeks. The women in the queue for the toilets even asked me if I wanted to jump the queue a couple of times. 😂
