Attending a concert at 26/27 weeks pregnant

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with number 3 and it’s come as a bit of a shock. First 2 took almost a year each time to conceive so I did not expect to find myself pregnant so quickly. Obviously baby is very wanted.

I have tickets to Taylor Swift the eras tour in June and I’ll be roughly 26/27 weeks (depending on what my 12 week scan says as I have no clue when I ovulated) and just wondering if anybody has attended a concert around this time of pregnancy or even later and if it was all okay?

It is seated so I will be able to sit down when necessary and will obviously drink lots too. Any advice? Positive stories? 🙈

Hi,
if you’re seated I wouldn’t worry. I didn’t go to a concert but I have an Arsenal season ticket and continued to go until 34 weeks as we have seats in the nicer club level part. Just be cautious of moving around eg leave a bit earlier to avoid the rush that’s what I did x

ElderMillenials · 09/01/2024 17:38

Assuming no major issues with the pregnancy you'd be fine. Possibly a bit tired after but totally worth it.

I'd happily volunteer to take the tickets off your hands though 😜

glasspaw · 09/01/2024 18:17

Seated you’ll be fine. I struggled at that point with standing shows but would have been totally fine if I’d bought seated tickets.

worst case scenario, I can’t see you having any trouble selling them on for a profit 😂

weegiemum · 09/01/2024 18:39

Yes I saw U2 live when I was 20 weeks with ds. It was at a festival so outside and the only seating was on the ground! I was able to sit down most of the day but was on my feet for the main act as I'd have been trampled otherwise!

Ds hates U2!

PurBal · 09/01/2024 18:41

My sister plans on going to the eras tour on her due date. You’ll be in good company.

soscarlet · 09/01/2024 18:46

I’d go, and I’d be 33 weeks for the date I didn’t get tickets for!

BobnLen · 09/01/2024 18:47

I saw Bruce Springsteen when I was about 25 weeks or so, it wasn't seated, DS is fine, he has never mentioned liking Bruce though.

I was in a mosh pit at a slipknot concert at 32 weeks pregnant once.

I stayed just outside of the actual moshing bit, but it was bloody brilliant (and my now almost grown up baby LOVES slipknot and we are going in December 🤣).

jellyfish2 · 09/01/2024 18:49

Im going to see Taylor swift too! I'll be almost 30 weeks 😅 no chance I'm getting rid of those tickets!

BellaNutella88 · 09/01/2024 18:52

I went to two concerts in my first pregnancy; one at 36 and one at 37 weeks. I don’t regret it at all and it was fun. My only advice is consider how you are getting to and from. The first of the two I was using public transport and felt quite vulnerable with how busy it was. The second of the two we drove and parked and so was much easier and much more comfortable getting home ! I was much further along though, would probably have been fine travelling earlier.

megletthesecond · 09/01/2024 18:52

You couldn't possibly go if you're pregnant. All the pregnant ladies need to pop their tickets up on re-sale straight away 😉.

ValBiro · 09/01/2024 18:53

@StopTheBusINeedAWeeWeeAWeeWeeBagOChips I came on to say it's unlikely there'd be a mosh pit at a Taylor Swift concert 😜

Go for it OP, like Stop the bus I was still frequenting gigs (hip hop and punk shows!) late into pregnancy, bottle.of gaviscon sometimes caused issues at bag search but never had any problems beyond that!

neleh87 · 09/01/2024 18:56

I saw Florence and the machine at about this point in my pregnancy. I had standing tickets and danced all night. It was great!

Mindymomo · 09/01/2024 18:57

I saw Diana Ross and Whitney Houston whilst heavily pregnant, still managed a few dances from my seat.

queenofthewild · 09/01/2024 18:59

I went to gigs all through my pregnancy. In fact I was out at 42 weeks pregnant hoping to dance the baby out before my induction. It didn't work.

The kid is fine and also loves music.

SquashPenguin · 09/01/2024 18:59

I’ve got tickets for Bruce Dickenson on my due date, and Judas Priest and Dragonforce when I’ll be 31 weeks 😆😆

I went to Elton John at that point in pregnancy and had a fantastic time I just sat down when I needed to!

It was at the O2 so getting out was the nrinal bun fight but just flashed my baby in Baird and he and didn’t have to queue to get in the tube!!

My baby is due in May, we were wondering if they’d let a six month old in to see Slipknot next December. Cultivating their music taste early on 😂😂

Whataretheodds · 09/01/2024 19:13

You'll be fine. I performed at a gig (standing) at 32 weeks

aveline161 · 09/01/2024 19:15

Had a full bottle of piss chucked at me with force at the stone roses whilst 7 months + (and I was in the seats!) but I still survived 🤣

OldTinHat · 09/01/2024 19:19

You'll be absolutely fine! I went to a festival with no seating when I was 36wks. Bonus was we were able to park right next to the stage when I pointed out my belly to the parking assistant!

Same DC is now an extreme festival fan.

CottonPyjamas · 09/01/2024 19:26

I went to a rock concert at 36 weeks pregnant but had a seat. However my waters went when I got home and I had my eldest naturally just a few hours later. He's 16 now and it's a great story

MrsB2019x · 09/01/2024 19:29

I’m heading to Slam Dunk festival at 25 weeks pregnant, making the most of it all before baby arrives!

blushroses6 · 09/01/2024 19:31

I went to see Ed Sheeran when I was around the same number of weeks as you will be and it was fine. I did leave before the last song to avoid the rush at the end and the madness getting on the tube. I was exhausted the next day though!

MumDaisy1980 · 09/01/2024 19:32

I went to a concert earlier in pregnancy - maybe 3 months in. 12 weeks +. Advise to take your baby on board badge with you. I was treated like a VIP and got right in without going through any scan. Perhaps it’s common. It’s my first pregnancy so I was startled about the treatment haha.

now 27 weeks, when I went Xmas do. I had to sit Often. So if you’ve got seats just enjoy!!
