Twins due 2024

Hi all. I’m 7 weeks pregnant with twins. I had an early scan due to a previous ectopic which revealed two growing babies with heartbeats. I’m looking to chat with other mums who are expecting twins or have had twins. I’ve read lots online but a lot the chat threads seem quite old. Is there anyone else out there? Thanks!
I have two DDs aged 7 and 4.

@GeographyTeacher I had a pre booked holiday to Malta when I was going to be 26-27 weeks pregnant prior to knowing I was expecting twins and I was advised not to travel then. But obviously a few weeks later on than you will be.
So we went to Devon instead!

Had my 12 week scan last week, I’m having DC/DA twins. I opted for the combined screening. Twin 1 came back low risk for all chromosomal conditions, twin 2 came back higher risk for Down syndrome but is low risk for edwards and pataus. I’m going for the NIPT blood test tomorrow but we have already decided not to do diagnostic screening.
has anyone else had this with one or both of their twins? X

@MummyBear2519 I think this is the conclusion we are coming to. My husband is remaining optimistic but I just have a gut feeling it’s not the right call.

wow, that sounds very scary. Did you have any inkling that you had TTTS? I have my 16w scan and a midwife appt this week and very nervous about it.

@Donimo given I’m high risk from another medical condition and on blood thinners I think I will be advised the same. It might just be a few days in the UK somewhere!

@Lavender2016 Yes I think that’s what my gut feeling is telling me.

I had 5 days booked in southern Spain at the end of March, when I would be 20 weeks. We were advised by our consultant not to travel abroad so settling for a less exciting trip in the UK.

Not necessarily. I finished at 35 weeks and went back to pickup a project at 38 weeks as was climbing the walls (my 2 yo was at nursery all day)

Had them at 39+4. 15lb between them, DCDA.

This is my 3rd pregnancy and didn’t feel anything was off until the scan.
Was a really stressful 2 weeks from seeing the consultant, having the laser procedure and then the next scan but last week everything was looking really positive.
Hopefully now it’s smooth sailing and I can go back to being excited and enjoying the pregnancy.
Our goal was to get me to 36 weeks but when I saw my midwife she said that likely won’t happen now.
I have a 32 weeker already so them being early doesn’t concern me too much as I know what to expect.
If I can get to 34 weeks I can stay at my booking hospital so that’s my new goal now.
Anyone else having lots of nose bleeds?

Hi @Lavender2016 just wanted to ask how everything is going? Found out today at 6+2 that we are having twins. Bit of a shock as already have DSs 4 and 2 and we’re only planning on adding 1 more! Thanks

so nice to read all the advice on this group, how is everyone doing?

I'm currently 15+5 with DCDA twins and these are our first babies👶

I’m just getting to the point where I am having to figure out my whole life, what to buy, moving houses and trying to find a support network, I am not sure where to start 😅

I am part of another group for women due to in Dec but no one else is having multiples and feel there are ways I can’t always relate. Like should I be showing already 😂

this week I feel like I have ballooned up but surely it’s too early? Also the constant peeing, the pressure in my lower abdomen. I even got swollen feet the other day (I was standing for too long and it was hot)🥵 anyway feeling optimistic and excited for what’s to come including a gender scan this Saturday 🥰
