You're in the best place, OP. Do they know what might be wrong? Hope you and baby are both ok 💐

Insheerpanic · 28/11/2023 20:02

Handhold here. No advice but agree you are in the right place, baby will be ok now if delivered. Hope you are both OK, how scary xxx

Vick99 · 28/11/2023 20:12

You're in the right place, trust that they will do what's best for you and baby. I had my son at 35+6 and aside from prolonged jaundice he was fine. I've also had preeclampsia so I know how scary it Is. There's an excellent Facebook group called "Preeclampsia, Eclampsia and HELLP syndrome Survivors Global Support Network" which could help you with any specific questions you have about your treatment etc. Good luck x

pregnantmum36 · 28/11/2023 20:15

Sending you a big hug. Baby will be fine if they deliver now, and so will you. Flowers

babythreeincoming · 28/11/2023 20:57

Holding your hand ❤️

Have they checked your urine? Is your BP coming down? I've been through the exact same at this gestation and all was fine. The stars in the eyes is horrible and I hope that has gone for you now.

Big hugs and keep us posted. Everything is going to be ok xxxx

wineoclock90 · 28/11/2023 21:01

Hope you and baby are okay xx

babythreeincoming · 28/11/2023 21:04

Just realised I commented on your other thread checking in. Thinking of you and once your baby has been delivered you should feel a lot better - we are all with you xx

jadey1991 · 28/11/2023 21:20

Hand hold here too. Your in thr best place. Any updates

Puddle13 · 28/11/2023 22:08

Holding your hand. It will be ok. ❤️

My half brother’s mum had to deliver him at 27 weeks because of her severe preeclampsia. She is perfectly healthy as is my 26 year old brother who travels all around the world working a surf videographer.

ThirdTimeLucky27 · 28/11/2023 22:55

Thank you all so much for your kind words, it really does mean so much! Just want her in my arms now and to be back home with my boys where I belong ♥️

Blood pressure has come down again with the medication but I'm having to take it more and more often.. It wasn't due until 10pm tonight, but blood pressure spiked around 6pm. They're going to do obs again at 2am and are waiting on the blood results.

Oh bless you ny darling. Do they know what's causing it to spike? Are they going to deliver baby?

bowiesmum · 28/11/2023 23:07

Sorry to hear you are unwell. I'm a midwife and see this regularly. Hopefully things will settle with meds, are you on highest dose?

Have they scanned you? On the positive side, you are a good gestation and it tends to pass once you deliver.

fairymary87 · 28/11/2023 23:08

Big hugs Op you're are in the right place and will be looked after x

ThirdTimeLucky27 · 29/11/2023 07:28

Woke up this morning with blood pressure reading of 118/78 nearly 10 hours after my labetalol.. They've given me another dose this morning and said it could drop my blood pressure too low now and make me feel faint.

What on earth is going on? Why is it so up and down?

I'm so so exhausted 😩 Don't know how I'm going to get through labour when the time comes. On the plus side 36 weeks today!

ThirdTimeLucky27 · 29/11/2023 07:57

Also is an early induction less likely to be successful? I've been told I've laboured well twice before not sure if that makes any difference. Babies head isn't engaged this time but have been told that's quite normal with second and third babies.

OP posts:
BadBadDecisions · 29/11/2023 08:11

Oh good luck!

I was induced due to high BP at 38 weeks so not quite as early. It was so fast and easy! I guess because it was my second my body knew what to do.

I remember them wanting to give me an epidural which helps keep the BP down, but my labour was over so quickly that there was no time.

Good luck!

Arwen7 · 29/11/2023 08:17

So sorry you are going through this! When the bloods and urine test comes back you will have a better picture and whether this is preeclampsia or not (most likely seeing that triage BP). The most important thing is that you are in the right place, and if there are concerns with you or the baby you will have an early delivery, but always best to wait til at least 37w so they will manage your bp, monitor your BP and baby several times every day and wait til as long as possible as long as it is safe to do so. 36w it's early but not too early so that's a positive. Prepare for a possible long stay at hospital and at least 3 days after birth regardless of mode of birth. It is very common for BP meds to take a while to work, sometimes having to change them frequently. All the best OP, and enjoy the baby when they arrive <3

Thank you! That sounds perfect.. My last labour was only 2 hours and natural at 40 weeks so nice and quick would be lovely!

Quick update! Now have an official preeclampsia diagnosis.. Though first thing this morning my blood pressure had gone down to 119/79 and 3 hours later it was 156/98 again.. I've been given an extra dose of medication and will have obs done again at 2pm I believe. Doctors have booked me a scan tomorrow and have said they will keep a close eye on the blood results to decide when is the right time to get baby out.

I don't feel like my bump has grown over the last couple of weeks so am slightly concerned about that also.

OP posts:
Insheerpanic · 29/11/2023 11:36

It's good that you know you have it now and they will either get it under control or get baby out for both of your safety. Good they're keeping a close eye on you and you have a scan too, are they doing regular tracing of baby on ctgs? X

Thank you. Yes I had one before bed last night, I'm not sure when they're planning another but they have left the machine in with me so guess it will be soon. She is an absolute nightmare on the CTGs though, always takes 45 minutes to an hour because she won't sit still and they keep loosing contact.. Or she will go to sleep so there's not enough variation in the rate 🤦🏼‍♀️ Trouble already this one!

Vick99 · 29/11/2023 12:12

I'm glad they're keeping a close eye on things. Hope the scan is reassuring.

Re your blood pressure readings being up and down, I've heard preeclampsia described as a tug of war between your body and placenta (as preeclampsia is linked to placenta failure) - sometimes the placenta copes ok so the BP readings are good, other times it isn't coping so the BP shoots up. Over time it will cope less and less well so the readings will be more consistently high.

That makes sense. Thank you for explaining
