Pregnant again after multiple miscarriages

Hello,

Looking to see if anyone is in the same position, pregnant again (4 weeks) after five early losses (pre 7 weeks) in the last fifteen months.

We want this baby so much but hopes aren’t high and the prospect of losing again during the Christmas period - for some reason it just feels worse.

id love to hear from anyone in the same position or alternatively if you have some good news stories after recurrent loss I’d love to hear xx

@Hoping4amiracle wow he sounds like a strong little man! Thank you for the tips. I've not had any checks since the one at 24wks so I guess I'll get a better idea tomorrow. I'll be 27+4. At my previous scans everything (Doppler's, his and my blood flow, infection markers etc) was looking great apart from him being tiny so 🤞🏼 It really has reassured me though hearing your story! You know how nerve-wracking it is with these rainbow babies so any possible cause for concern just gets magnified doesn't it. May I ask was yours a C-section? They mentioned to me they often don't put the teeny ones through the stress of labour? Are you staying in hospital with him? Xx

I was in hospital for two weeks before I delivered for monitoring, so had plenty of chats with the NICU team and at 28 weeks I was told the chances of survival were around 80-90%, and at 34 weeks survival is about the same as any full term baby. So you are already at a point where the odds are massively in your favour. It sounds cliche but the doctors and nurses in NICU really are incredible. It’s not what anyone plans but stay strong if it comes to it.

If there is any sign of the dopplers deteriorating I’d push for closer monitoring.

I was a c-section and was given similar advice that it could be very challenging for a small/preterm baby to deliver naturally.

I was discharged around 4 days after delivery, my baby will be in for around 3 months. There were options to stay in a couple of nights per week but after weeks in hospital before delivery I was desperate for my own bed. I travel up every day to see him x
