Good luck for Saturday!!

I had bleeding at the start of my first pregnancy and actually a few times throughout.

Everything was totally fine.

Hello, just wanted to share my experience which I hope may offer some hope! I'm only two weeks on from it so really sympathise with how you feel just now. The wait is awful. I thought at 6 weeks I was miscarrying too. Only slight bleeding like in your photos but strong positives on tests. EPU scanned me and saw nothing. Like you I was certain of my dates so they then did blood tests 48 hours apart. This is where our stories differ because my HCG levels rose but never doubled. They eventually reached 2800 but the increments were never as much as yours, only by 50% max at a time. I was told that to be viable, the rise has to be at least 63% in 48 hours. Yours is more so that's good news.

I'm not sharing this to scare you, I actually hope it gives hope as your levels have risen by the amount (and more!) I was told they look for in a viable pregnancy. I ended up having surgery for an ectopic but it sounds from your updates that things are actually going well for you and I have everything crossed for good news on Saturday!

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m really sorry for your loss darling @Herefordeals xx

Thanks @Thenatcheshire just trying to reassure you a little. Given the advice I was given a couple of weeks ago it sounds like you're going in the right direction and your levels are rising appropriately. More of the same on Saturday! Keep us posted and best of luck. Stay off Google!!

LavenderSweetPea · 16/11/2023 21:41

Just so you don't get expectations up@Thenatcheshire it sounds like from your hcg, ovulation stick dates and the date you got your first faint positive test that you're only going to be 5 weeks on Saturday when they scan you. You'll probably at that point be able to see the yolk sac, but it'll still very likely be too early to see a foetus in it. Doesn't mean anything is wrong if you don't see the foetal pole on Saturday!

Thenatcheshire · 18/11/2023 10:05

Morning! Sac spotted on this mornings scan and they said I’m 4+6 today .
HCG results were 652. 2 days ago they were 374. Slightly worried because they’ve not doubled but nurse didn’t seem overly worried. Not sure what to think.

That's amazing news @Thenatcheshire the hcg is really positive and totally aligns with what you are seeing on the scan (and aligns with your positive ovulation tests).

Are they going to have you back for a follow up scan in a couple of weeks?

Thenatcheshire · 18/11/2023 11:48

@LavenderSweetPea Do you think? I’m going back Monday for another blood test to reassure me and got another scan on the 1st Dec. Xx

Yeah bloods only need to roughly double in 48hours, anything over a 67% rise is considered acceptable and yours is up 75% so I wouldn't be worried at all by that.

So at your blood test on Monday you'd be looking for anything over about 1080.

Fingers crossed at your next scan you'll probably be far enough along too see a little heartbeat ❤️

Thenatcheshire · 20/11/2023 14:54

@LavenderSweetPea 1063 today. Not quite the 1080. Nurse didn’t seem concerned but should I be so you think x

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 20/11/2023 14:57

When they get to that kind of level they don't double as fast. I think that sounds fine. You also have to consider the time of day the bloods were drawn.

Thenatcheshire · 20/11/2023 15:01

@Talkwhilstyouwalk going to try and just relax now until my scan on 1st December. Thank you for replying xx

I had a similar experience- bled a small amount and I thought I was around 6+ weeks. Had a scan and did see my baby and heart rate but was told I was measuring I think 5+5. I felt like I was certain of my ovulation date but didn’t get a positive pregnancy test till 15dpo by my calculations. I later realised I must have messed up my ovulation date.

Bled again a week later. Had another scan exactly a week after the first and baby still there and had grown but not by a week. Everything just felt wrong and I was sure I was going to miscarry.

I was wrong! The baby is now a happy and healthy four year old.

It all sounds really positive for you with your HCG raising! Good luck for your scan on 1st. Keep us posted!

Thenatcheshire · 20/11/2023 17:54

Thanks so much for the positive story. It reassures me so much! Will update after my scan on the 1st xx @elliesmummy19

@Thenatcheshire it sounds positive to me, so no I wouldn't be concerned. As PP said, depending on the exact time of day your bloods were drawn can make a difference.

Keep us posted on how your scan goes!
