I know it's hard but try not to worry, if you ovulated on 27th October (and this is probably the earliest you would have done, you dont usually ovulate until 24-28 hours after your ovulation peak) you're only 4+3w today. You really wouldnt expect to see anything on a scan that early, even in a healthy normal pregnancy. And 170 is a pretty normal HCG for that gestation.

Try not to lose hope, there's no reason at this stage that things can't work out. Has the bleeding stopped?

Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 15:45

@LavenderSweetPea thank you for the reassurance. My mindset is just so negative. I haven’t bled at all just that one blob I posted on the original post. Xx

Ah that's a really really good sign @Thenatcheshire the bleeding you posted looked tbh like irritation of some kind in your cervix maybe, it even possibly a bit of implantation bleeding. Hopefully your blood tests will show a nice hcg rise.

If it makes you feel any better as well, I've had regular bleeding throughout my pregnancy, sometimes a little bit like you posted sometimes a lot (and I really do mean a lot) and I'm now 27+3 so although I know it is alarming it can all be well ❤️

Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 16:02

@LavenderSweetPea Thank you for being so kind. I’m an emotional wreck. Can’t tell you all how much it means to me that you check in and care x

Keeping my fingers crossed. I also had bleeding at the start of my first pregnancy around 4/5 weeks and all was well. Put down to implantation bleeding x

AnnieStar12 · 14/11/2023 16:48

On your dates, it sounds like you might be less that 5weeks.
I’m at a similar stage to you - I had my peak on OPK on the 19th Oct, and ovulated / conceived on 20th October. I know my dates exactly as I was being monitored as part of an IUI round so the doctor was monitoring every stage. I am now pregnant 5w4d. By the sounds of your dates you’re at least 7/8 days behind me. I’m having my early scan end of this week when I’ll be 6 weeks as that’s earliest they’ll be able to see anything.

So I think there’s still hope.

Toda11 · 14/11/2023 17:08

Definitely think you still have a good reason to be hopeful here, most don't see anything at that early stage and go on to have successful pregnancies

Savvy21 · 14/11/2023 17:34

@Thenatcheshire if that's all the bleeding that you've had then I think you've still got a chance that everything is OK. I think you're about a week behind me ovulation wise so I think you're more 4 weeks and 6. They could just about see something when I was scanned at 5 and 2. If you've not had a period like bleed then you might still be OK. Is this your first pregnancy?

Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 17:35

@AnnieStar12 Thank you. I hope you’re right. I really do. Did a digital an hour ago that said 2-3 weeks. Don’t even know why. I guess maybe I hoped it would say 1-2 and that would mean I’m earlier than I thought, giving a reason for no sac. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy x

When I was pregnant I bled to the point that I thought it was my period & used a tampon. It stopped quickly & it turned out I was pregnant. Don't lose hope. Rest up & look after yourself xx

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 14/11/2023 17:39

If you are around 4 weeks as a previous poster suggested and as the ovulation sticks and HCG would also suggest then you would not be expected to see a thing! I went for a scan before starting IVF and would have been about 4 weeks. Did not know I was pregnant and there was absolutely no suggestion that I might be from the very thorough scan! Got a positive a few days later and saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks. If you are concerned, I would suggest getting another HCG in 48 hours to check the doubling time. Early pregnancy is not an easy time, there is always an element of waiting and hoping for the best. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 17:40

@Savvy21 Yes first time I’ve ever fallen pregnant. I’m 36. Had fertility testing around 18 months ago because was going to freeze my eggs. I was told I had lots of follicles for my age but had Polysistic ovaries. Made sense as my period cycles can be all over the place. The last two were 30 days ones before that 45 days, a random 20 days, 28, 36, 55!! a real mixed bag. I just assumed I wouldn’t ever get pregnant naturally. Low and behold October was the first month we used ovulation sticks and tracked it. Did the deed a lot the week before, of and after and then got the positive. Sorry for the essay!! Hope everything is as smooth as possible for you, thanks for the support x

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 14/11/2023 17:44

Also, for 2-3 weeks I think HCG only needs to be over 200....

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 14/11/2023 17:45

When did you first get a positive pregnancy test?

Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 17:46

@Talkwhilstyouwalk HCG was only 170 today x

OP posts:
Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 17:48

@Talkwhilstyouwalk first positive test was Friday 10/10, but was SO faint. Gradually getting darker.

OP posts:
Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 17:50

@Talkwhilstyouwalk sorry just seen your first longer message. Thanks for the encouragement, got another blood test this Thursday at midday x

OP posts:
Talkwhilstyouwalk · 14/11/2023 17:53

If you mean 10/11 for first faint positive and it's been getting darker and HCG is now 170 then that sounds exactly as expected, my guess is that you weren't even 4 weeks when you first tested. It's very early but there is every reason to be hopeful.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 14/11/2023 17:54

Pregnancy tests are so sensitive these days that they can pick up hcg from about days post ovulation. Before 4 weeks!

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 14/11/2023 17:55

*10 days

Thenatcheshire · 14/11/2023 18:40

@Talkwhilstyouwalk sorry yes 10/11! Crossing everything that you’re right x

OP posts:
Thenatcheshire · 16/11/2023 14:53

Hi everyone. So went for more bloods today and they have doubled. 171 on Tuesday and they’re 374 I think she said today. So I guess means two things:
one ( fingers, toes and everything else crossed it’s this) I’m just earlier than I thought and that’s why no sac
two - it’s ectopic

Praying it’s the first and I’ve just got worked up over nothing. Going back for more bloods and another scan on Saturday at 8am.

Thanks again for all the support ladies it’s meant the world to me x

OP posts:
PumpkinFence · 16/11/2023 14:58

Everything crossed for Saturday for you

LavenderSweetPea · 16/11/2023 15:05

Fingers crossed for you, I think it sounds very very likely that you were earlier than you thought based on everything you've said. Ectopic hcg rates tend not to double every couple of days so I'd say that's very unlikely to be the case.

Good luck and let us know how your scan goes xx
