What have you got for your coming home outfit for your baby boy?

I haven’t found anything I like, I have been looking for a blue-ish babygrow and matching hat set, but haven’t had any luck and I only have 9 days to go until his arrival! …

It’s not a fashion accessory. Bet she did a gender reveal too. Focus on the baby not impressing everyone else

Thanks everyone, this is baby #3, but DS#1 and as I had a pink little babygrow and hat set for DD1 as I knew her sex before birth, a neutral babygrow and hat set for DD2, as I didn’t, so I’d like something blue or white and blue this time around.
I already have babygrows packed for in the hospital and intend on having DH bring the “coming home” outfit in when he comes to collect us from hospital, but I’m really struggling to find any sets with a matching hat!
I feel like I had loads of options for my DDs, which came with matching hats and I can’t seem to find any this time around.
We are off to Morrisons and Sainsburys this morning and if that fails, I think we will order something into Next to collect in the week.

A babygro. All you’ll need for at least three months. At least 4 or 5 each day 😁

Totally agree. I've never understood the whole MN thing with babygrows... some people on here seem to think it's frivolous and unsuitable to wear anything else. I always found it easier with a vest and leggings!

It's exciting planning sweet clothes for your little one.

Loved planning clothes for my little one. Dread to think what MN thought of us as mine detested babygros so only wore rompers🤭 op as pp said Next have gorgeous sets

First time I bought a little outfit and it was really hard and exhausting to get him into it (and I felt silly, the nurse had to help me). This time I've gone like you OP and opted for a baby grow - I bought this one. Not blue but it's really cute and snuggly. Just need to remember some socks!

Me & my sister gave a lovely tradition where we buy each other’s baby coming home outfit. It’s so lovely 🥰

Next is great for baby grows or M&S

This thread has made me really broody!

Me too.

And I am 50 so no more baby plans for me. Sad

Also done here!
My youngest is a toddler who is just starting to sleep, so it's a no from me too 🙃

I remember I thought about this with my 1st as thought it was a thing, in the end she had whatever I had clean/fit as we had to stay in a bit and she was tiny. 2nd bubba I have no idea as I was just glad to get home. So my advice is don't make this into a big thing.

PensionPuzzle · 22/10/2023 11:01

Oh! TKMaxx always have loads of sets with lots of bits in! Sometimes ropey designs but sometimes some lovely ones too

it has had the exact same effect upon me, so much so that I am thinking about going upstairs and getting out the box with the baby grows my three came home in 😭😭😭

Got these from Asda … I have only looked in Asda about 28438 times, but the matching hats were separate from the babygrows!

My niece came home in a blue baby gro. She's 8 now. No one remembers or cares. I only remembered because of this thread.

These are very cute!

They are lovely OP! I loved the Asda baby range for my son too. We had a perfect newborn going home outfit all ready and then he arrived at 4.5lbs and didn't fit that outfit for ages! My MIL bought him a sweet set from John Lewis though so he went home in that instead. After that I bought everything from Asda or the Next sale cos they always had matching hats like you say. Good luck with baby #3 and congratulations.

DS was born decades ago in the middle of an Arctic winter. Even as a new born he wouldn't keep a hat on unless it tied under the chin. Never ever wore one.

Congratulations OP - best wishes for a speedy labour and safe delivery.
