Empty sac at 5 weeks?

I went for a scan the other day due to suspected eptopic. I was 5 weeks exactly (confirmed with ovulation so I am 10000% certain on dates.) The pregnancy is in the right place however only the gestational sac was visible, no yolk sac.
The gestational sac was measuring 7.5mm, which I’ve looked online and is about right for 5 weeks. However some websites say the yolk sac should be visible by 5 weeks, but others say that yolk sac is not visible until nearer to 5.5 weeks… like 5+2 onwards. I have another scan in 10 days.

just wondered if anyone had experienced this and gone on to have another scan and seen baby and heartbeat etc.

I’ve recently just found out I am pregnant after a miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy. It has been 5 weeks since my last period. I had my bloods taken on Tuesday and my HCG was 2200 and then had them taken on Thursday and my hcg was 4035. Today I had a scan and all they could see was a gestational sac, the EPU said this was normal 5 weeks and are going to scan me in 2 weeks. Has anyone had a similar experience? I can’t help but worry, I really wanted to see more than this x

But yes I had this, I went for a scan at 5 weeks and it was an empty sac. Went back at 6+6 and there was a baby with a heartbeat. Good luck!

@Lauren1999 I had a scan at 6 weeks and they only saw the gestational sac and yolk sac. No fetal pole. They said that days make a huge difference at that stage, let alone a week. Everything worked out perfectly for me and my little girl is upstairs in bed x

Hi there, I am just not really well thinking about it and wanted to share in case someone can provide some positivity or relate? I have a history of miscarriages due to aps. I am now pregnant. Have long cycle 31 to 32 days. I felt ovulation symptoms around cycle day 22 of the month in April. Went for a scan when I was supposedly 6w 2 d and they found a healthy looking sac they said bit measured 7.2mm equivalent to week 5 or early week 5. They want to see me in 2 weeks. I am just very depressed until this happens. I keep getting increasing pregnancy symptoms which I dodnt know if that's good but I worry in case it ends up blighted ovum and won't know how this is going to go as I am on blood thinners... it is such a difficult time. Anyone's thoughts appreciated
