Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

@KG1244 yes been on vitamins all the way thru so far and I had extra folate. Because I’m apparently obese. Even tho I run half marathons and go to the gym and swim regularly. No the BMI says I’m fat lol I tried saying it’s muscle but they were having none of it lol how rude!

I’ve always had low folate before I was pregnant and I’m veggie so I’m pretty sure it’s iron or something. Had nightmare contacting doctor and midwife but I sent in sicknote request on their app and magically they said I needed to speak to a doctor! Well yes I do!
so now waiting for a call back.

thislittlebird · 10/10/2023 11:07

I'm also very keen to get out of the first trimester, I really wish I could enjoy it more. I spoke to DH the other day about names, very briefly, and it didn't go terribly, which was nice. We agree his grandad's name is good for a boy and he didn't dislike my top girl name suggestions.

I've had a brief wave of nausea and thought I might throw up mid-morning for two days in a row now, literally seconds and then it goes again.

@thislittlebird We've had names nailed down for years. I think we chose them about six months into our relationship 😂

thislittlebird · 10/10/2023 11:14

@TheBirdintheCave very organised! We've both been too scared to talk about it properly tbh, never had faith this would result in an actual child so just didn't other than me mentioning names in passing once in a blue moon. He even said that he won't be coming up with ideas YET lol. I'm just sad we won't get to use more than one name, but I'm too old to want to do all this all over again so one will have to do.

@thislittlebird You'll just have to use lots of names for this baby 😅My cousin has three middle names 😂

thislittlebird · 10/10/2023 12:39

@TheBirdintheCave it’s certainly an option!

I self-referred to midwifery on Friday or Saturday and they’ve already sent me a booking in appointment. That was fast. It’s next Wednesday, the 18th.

@thislittlebird Woah! Very speedy! I sent mine nearly two weeks ago and have heard nothing re the booking in appointment. I got the 12 week scan date through though 🤷🏻‍♀️

IVFAlone · 10/10/2023 13:24

Guys I need some reassurance! 8w5d today and back to feeling no symptoms! I’m getting so worried, anyone else feeling the same?

TheBirdintheCave · 10/10/2023 14:07

@IVFAlone Symptoms that come and go could be normal for you. I've read lots of people on here say that theirs do that ❤️

CazzyM1983 · 10/10/2023 14:54

@IVFAlone try not to panic xxx I’ve had symptoms come and go. At 9 weeks they all seemed to vanish for me but came back with a vengeance before week 10. Then they eased just before week 11 started and now I’m basically unable to function due to nausea and dizziness and fatigue. What a ride!
Have you got a midwife yet? Ring midwife if you need to chat it through with them. Sometimes it’s good to talk it through if you feel anxious. And remember it’s normal to get stressy about it and no shame looking for reassurance. I don’t know your health background so whilst you are probably fine, a chat with midwife might make you feel better?
I rang my midwife today blubbering because I feel so shit and she was so nice and made me feel loads better.
If no midwife can you ring your clinic and speak to nurses there?

thislittlebird · 10/10/2023 17:40

Look what I wore today 👀

I felt a bit daft but I was feeling unwell today so picked one up at the station in case I couldn’t get a seat on the train. Feels weird but my husband told me to get them for commuting.

@IVFAlone how are you feeling now? It is stressful, I worry on the days I don’t have symptoms

@thislittlebird Aww yay! :)

thislittlebird · 10/10/2023 18:09

@TheBirdintheCave if it all ends in the next few weeks at least I got to briefly wear my badge 🙃

@thislittlebird Ive honestly felt the need for one of those!

The other day I was on the metro and it was packed and my blood pressure started dropping... I only had 3 stops to get through, but had to leave 1 stop before mine, as I was on the verge or either passing out or throwing up everywhere.

I just didnt feel comfortable asking someone for a seat when I dont look pregnant at all!

IVFAlone · 10/10/2023 19:42

@thislittlebird - still struggling with no symptoms! Feeling so deflated :(

ASGIRC · 10/10/2023 21:48

@IVFAlone I dont know how else to say this... But on another thread I was in, one of the girls had hyperemesis. From very very early on. And then when she went on to her viability scan, it was bad news. She still had HG. She had it until she had surgery.

Symptoms do not mean your pregnancy is going well. You can have none and have a great pregnancy. You can have awful symptoms and not have a viable pregnancy.

Dont feel deflated due to no symptoms. They mean NOTHING. Not. A. Single. Thing!

You have had a good scan! Focus on THAT!

KG1244 · 10/10/2023 22:09

So I was already an anxious person before ivf so that fun train definitely hasn’t helped. I’ve got my booking appointment tomorrow and feeling a bit 😬, for those of you that have already had it, please can you share some calming words. I think it’s also the thought of actually going to a maternity unit - can’t believe that stage is happening for me.

CazzyM1983 · 11/10/2023 06:29

@KG1244 firstly what your feeling is normal. Especially for us ivf mamas. It’s like another milestone that you never thought you would get to. I remember feeling swept along a bit because the midwife was talking about where i want to give birth and I was like woah I haven’t let myself accept I’m pregnant yet I can’t make my brain jump to the birth. Obviously we are all very aware of what can happen along the way and none of us want to get cocky just in case. I was a bit suprised my midwife didn’t really know about ivf too much which made feel a bit nervous. She was aware of possible risks tho so I guess that all she needs. But in terms of my brain being in denial and scared to believe I’m pregnant, and being scared of what can go wrong and the fear of having to go through everything from the beginning again, I’m not sure she got it.
Try and enjoy the moment. It’s a huge milestone. One I found overwhelming and I blubbed a lot after! It’s the next hurdle and it’s great you have made it this far!
Have you had any scans yet? My clinic did a scan at 7 weeks but my nhs one isn’t til tomorrow

CazzyM1983 · 11/10/2023 06:30

@IVFAlone how are you doing today? Xxx

KG1244 · 11/10/2023 07:48

@CazzyM1983 thank you lovely. Good to know I’m not the only one. Even thinking about names properly, I’m like let’s get to 12 weeks first. I’ve had my 7 week scan at the ivf clinic and had a 9 week scan privately. Lots of love for your scan tomorrow ❤️

CazzyM1983 · 11/10/2023 08:17

@KG1244 thanks! I’m just sat here filling in my bump to baby book and looking at my last scan picture and I just got super emosh.
12 weeks today and I cannot believe it.
anxiety is still here tho 🤣 will see how that is after my scan tomorrow but right now I’m worrying scan might show something bad 🤦‍♀️

TheBirdintheCave · 11/10/2023 08:26

@KG1244 Enjoy your appointment today! :)

I've got a scan this afternoon at 1.30pm. I'm a bit scared. I'm 8+6 and last time when we had a 9 week scan the baby had died about a week before.

thislittlebird · 11/10/2023 11:39

@ASGIRC it's difficult because you don't look pregnant and don't feel you can ask for a seat. I didn't ask yesterday, but was glad I was wearing it in case of any issues with feeling unwell.

@IVFAlone it's impossible to now at this stage, I worry most days. Convinced I'll go to a scan at 9 weeks and it will have failed, so I think it's normal to be anxious, most of us probably are.

@KG1244 I'm very anxious too, in life but especially now. Good luck at the booking appointment, let me know what it's like! Mine is next week and in the text they sent they told me I need to sign up to a Tommy's app. Mine isn't at a maternity unit, it's at one of the local GP surgeries, which is a relief, I guess.

@CazzyM1983 When I self-referred they asked me on the form where I want to give birth?! I'm just thinking about getting to the next week, not birth! I ticked 'birth centre' rather than labour ward or at home, when my honest answer is probably 'in theatre' but they didn't offer that option!

@TheBirdintheCave good luck at the scan!

Hi all. I’ve had a short split second stabbing pain in my right ovary area today. Is this normal?
