Birth presents for dads

Hi everyone,

Now that I’m coming to the end of the third trimester and starting to think about the birth ( eek 😬) I’d really like to get my husband a present from bump and me to say thank you for everything he’s done this pregnancy - for context, I’ve been really ill with hyperemesis throughout and couldn’t have coped without him. He’s done all the cooking, cleaning, racing around to get whatever I needed and been an overall god send so I’d really like to get him something special. I also know he’s gotten me something for after the birth so want to surprise him even more!

Did anyone else get their partners a present or have any inspiration for me? I’d love to get him something sentimental but am just drawing a blank!

You have grown his child in you for 40 weeks.

There is no present he could buy you to match that.

You are giving him a child!! What more do you need to buy him?!!!

Although I generally agree with the ‘you’ve done the real work/he’s getting a baby’ sentiment, I can’t see that it would do any harm at all to acknowledge the love and support he’s given you. It is expected as your partner but that doesn’t mean it can’t be appreciated. It’s hard to suggest a present when we don’t know him but my DH loves his coffee machine and he’ll likely need a lot of caffeine soon!
