I can't seem to stop crying today

I feel ill, so have been up most of the night. My DD is also ill, she slept better.

I have to talk to my parents about looking after my DD without smacking.

Our landline has been cut off, both BT and Virgin blame the other. I hung up in tears in the end

Struggling to sort out blood tests at the hospital for the antibodies in my blood.

A midwife rang me about staying at the local hosptial but I want to transfer to another area. They are not listening to me.

I want to sleep and have a working phone line, why do I feel so sad today

sympathies Babieseverywhere. Can you lay on the sofa while your dd plays mext to you?

Are you worried about talking to your parents? Do you really think they won't listen to you?

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 11:45

I am more worried about this baby, all the blood tests. I don't think about him/her much. I have nightmares about hospitals. I don't feel the baby move much, I think things are going wrong, I still get bleeding, very light brown.

My parents love me but think I am weak, weak about how I parent and weak about hospitals. I can't do things their way.

BE - you are certainly not weak from what I've seen from you on mumsnet!

And it is normal to be worried about your pregnancy in the circumstances. How far along are you?

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 11:51

I'm not sure, 4 months maybe. I would know to the day with my DD's pregnancy.

Due in August

if only four months, then it's unlikey that you can feel him/her moving yet

Have you had a scan? Do you have a scan photo that you can go and look up? That's what I do when I'm feeling worried

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 11:56

Really, that is reassuring. I can't remember from last time. I have a scan picture, he/she kicked a lot and moved so much, they kept having to refocus the camera.

a lively little one! that's good

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 12:00

What about the bleeding ? It keeps stopping and I stop worrying and then it comes back again.

OP posts:
belgo · 26/02/2008 12:01

have you seen a doctor about the bleeding? Has it been going on for long?

pedilia · 26/02/2008 12:03

sorry you having sucb a hard time, it is awful when you are feeling ill and have little ones to look after as well, especially if they are not well either.

Could anyone take them while you get some rest? Whereabouts in the country are you?

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 12:03

On and off from the start, I did mention it to the first midwife and she wrote it in my notes. It is small amounts on a panty liner, happens most days..sometimes it stops for a couple of days and I stop worrying and then it comes back.

Midwife didn't seem worried.

Can you ring your local maternity unit and ask? If you;re spotting they should offer to monitopr you, surely?

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 12:06

Noone to take over here, TBH I'm not that ill just headache, sore throat, coughing and emotionally unstable today.

I have my DD running around half naked watching Cbeebies and I'm in my dressing gown, feeing sorry for myself on the sofa.

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 12:10

EffiePerine, the midwife made me wait weeks until the first scan date despite the bleeding. If I rang they would say I already have an appointment in 3/4 weeks anyway and to wait for that date.

Unless it turns red or more in quantity the midwife is not bothered. It is just me who worries.

a lot of women do bleed throughout their pregnancies, it's not always a problem, especially if it is a small amount of brown blood. But you do need to see someone to reassure you that all is fine.

EffiePerine · 26/02/2008 12:12

I can see why you want to move hosptials . Is your GP any good?

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 12:19

No, the local GP's jointly told me over several appointments, that I had a virsus when I was throwing up for hours a day and in a lot of pain for months.

When I turned up at the surgery bright yellow with bright red wee, on the verge of organ failure, they changed their mind and wanted me to go to thwe hospital straight away.

Turns out I had a gall stones blocking a duct...I ended up on morphine in hospital.

This hospital is also fucked up my gall bladder operation, so I ended up with infected wound and gave me crap blood, so I have antibodies which might affect/reject this or any future babies whilst I am pregnant.

belgo · 26/02/2008 12:20

that sounds awful BE.

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 12:20

After my last (different) hospital experience when they ripped my baby out of me...it is no wonder that even the thoght of midwifes, doctors, hospitals make me cry.

OP posts:
BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 12:22

But as my mum said
(who doesn't realise how bad I feel and only has the brief idea of what happened last time)
that she doesn;t want to hear me moaning about bad luck, as other people have it a lot worse.

Which I do agree in principle, but doesn't stop me for feeling low at the moment.

EffiePerine · 26/02/2008 13:08

You're worried, have had some awful experiences with doctors and hospitals and have been bleeding with this pg - of course you are worried! Can you go straight to the hospital / A&E / local drop-in centre if youare concerned?

BabiesEverywhere · 26/02/2008 13:13

If it was a one off bleed I would already be somewhere checking things out. But I can't go every day to be checked out and I bleed every day. Plus I have no transport, I am walking or on buses and though the local hospital is only a few miles away, it takes an hour or two to get there each way on buses. I went to the hospital on the buses last week had a good easy run and we set off at 12:30 and got home at 4pm.

I try not to think about it, to be honest. Worrying doesn't change anything, things will be as they be. I need to learn not to worry.

I know some mumsnetters have had bleeding throughout their pregnancies; maybe post under 'pregnancy' about it? To get some advice and support from women who have been through it?

ThePFJ · 28/02/2008 18:13

Babieseverywhere... go here

Call Ofcom (Previously Oftel), the telephone service watchdog or email them. Hopefully they should take the case on for you and contact both virgin and bt. I am sure if you explain things to them after 5 mins of your tears they will get things moving immediately.
Phone companies are really scared of them so they should respond fast too.

BT suck. I hate dealing with them when things go wrong. It's like talking to a load of monkeys.
Hope this helps. And good luck. I don't think you are weak. Hang on in there!
