Will hospital induce early for painful hemmoroids?

I have two large thrombosed hemmoroids.

I am in agony. They are the size of bouncy balls, they're black and I can barely even walk.

I am 34 + 2 weeks pregnant , and also have polyhydramnios ( extra fluid) which I assume is what's causing the hemmoroids in the first place.

I lost my plug on Sunday and on that same day all a total of SIX hemmoroids appeared. I was at the doc and she never checked them but. Prescribed the scheriproct cream and also suppositories. It shrunk 3 of them and now I'm left with one small thrombosed one and two large thrombosed ones that only seem to be getting worse. The had a look myself and they are horrific looking to say the least

Initially they were offering me induction at 39 weeks which I was really against cos I wanted to go myself and kinda have feeling i won't make it that far but now I'm just in agony all of a sudden and feel like the only cure is going to be actually having the baby.

Does anyone have any experiences with this? Baby is measuring above average and healthy and my first baby was induced at 37 + 6. I think cos plug is gone etc I'd be favourable but wondering if this is something they'd consider?

I'm waiting on a call back from my own gp after lunch to see what she says.

Sorry correction that should say I'm
35 + 2 weeks pregnant not 34

When are you expecting to be induced? I would be shocked if anywhere offered it before 37 weeks in this scenario, maybe even later. A mucus plug can and does regenerate if it comes away early.

39 weeks was when was first mentioned but I was super against it, now it has come full circle and I am just in so much pain 😢 I have a two year old as well so finding things hard

I'm actually passed 35 weeks there was a typo in first post.

I'm super big too because of the extra fluid and genuinely just in survival mode

Unfortunately inducing this early might be detrimental to your babys health.

Yellowrosesblue · 20/07/2023 12:29

You have my sympathy as the same thing happened to me. I ended up on A & E.they sent me home with steroid cream and germoloid suppositories.after 4/5 days they eventually began to shrink and become less painful.I had a hollow cushion to sit on and Luke warm salty baths.also lidocaine gel to put on numbed it too.

Irishwifey · 20/07/2023 13:49

So the doc just called back and said I need to
Come in to have it lanced but she is finished for the day. It's only the stand in doc who's left and she will do it if she can or else she may send me to maternity triage. I actually feel sick at the thought of it

I hope you got sorted today. It was so painful. I couldn’t walk or sit or stand.Lying on my side gave me a bit of relief.I thought mine would get worse after birth but actually I was ok.Wishing you all the best.

So they ended up sending me to maternity triage and they also found I have a UTI aswell fml.

The doc basically said that they wouldn't call the surgeons over from the normal a and e (which is next door) as they likely wouldn't do the lancing anyway because they're so slow to touch any pregnant women due to risk of infection etc. and she said I could have had 10 hour wait just for them to do nothing.

She examined me and in hind sight what was the actual point if they weren't going to do the procedure anyways. had her finger inside feeling around and now I am in 10 times more agony than when I went in there.

I am so fed up and sore 😢

EMLA cream is really good for hemmoroids. Glad the dr suggested lansing them as they can’t be left if they face thrombosed.

ice is your friend.

So sorry you are going through this during late pregnancy :(

onetimeonlyipromise · 20/07/2023 23:21

I remember being in an aisle in Boots, sobbing because they didn't have any of the medicines the GP had prescribed me in stock. So sorry you are having to go through it.

My saviour was lukewarm 'sit' baths, three times a day.

Thank you. 😭

I am currently in bed crying afraid to move they are so so painful and I checked them and they are 100% worse than when I went in today.

They seem to be leaving me to get on with it even though they are thrombosed. That was the doc in the hospital.

I may get back onto my gp tomorrow to ask them can they lance them in there. I am a mess l. I am just in absolute agony

Mine were thrombosed also and the doctors wouldn’t do anything as I was pregnant. I had 4 baths a day in Luke warm water which helped.I also ordered these frozen pads they you put in your pants. I hope you are ok and you have someone at home looking after you.

I've had a baby today with an ELCS, because of colitis and piles. They basically exploded when I had my first. I'm a bit sore but this birth has been an incredible one. I'd honestly recommend. After 3 hours pushing last time with 5 thrombosed piles, this has been a walk in the path.

justanothernamechangemonday · 21/07/2023 03:52

Park. Morphine and 3 days no sleep. Postnatal wards are not the one.

Sunnysunbun · 21/07/2023 03:56

You poor thing. I didn’t have them as bad as you seem to but the one I had was agony. The only relief I got was from bathing in warm water with Epsom salts. The Epsom salts seemed to really help.

Thank you so much my husband is here but also have a Demanding two year old daughter who needs a lot of attention so he is taking care of her thankfully.

I am awake all night tossing and turning getting sleep in 10/20 min increments and up again. Feel like I could throw up from the pain.

It's just so sudden too they kind of came out of nowhere.

I iced it a little a few hours ago, helped slightly for a few mins but waiting for doc to open again to revisit.

Feel like the maternity ward really let me down so hoping someone up there has a bit of mercy and just lances it. Me writhing in pain cannot be good for baby and taking Panadol one after another every 4 hours.

Omg congratulations on your new arrival , what did you have, boy or girl? Hope you are both doing ok!

Was the birth horrific on your first? Did they explode during, omg so sorry that happened 😭

I really wanted to have more natural birth this time after induction on my first, 27 hour labour, 3 hours pushing, vacuum assisted and episiotomy and then my episiotomy stiches burst and I basically had physio on them for a year afterwards it was terrible.

I had this thing in my head that I wanted to
Try again this time without all the interventions and that just seems to be going out the window as we speak . I'm at a loss tbh. But it I was to go into labour right now, I have no idea what would happen as I'm in agony just lying here let alone contracting and pushing baby out.

OP Brew that sounds rubbish. I hope your GP can help. Best of luck.

Mummyme87 · 21/07/2023 04:37

Sorry you’re in so much pain OP. It’s definitely not something maternity triage would not be able to help with, I hope you can see your GO first thing and she will lance them.

Irishwifey · 21/07/2023 05:01

Thank you so much ladies it's lovely to have some support ❤️❤️ us women really go through the ringer with our bodies.

When I went to Doctors surgery yesterday it wasn't my usual doc that saw me, she was young and I assume not as experienced and that's why she sent me to maternity triage.

Now that I know that maternity hospital won't help I can have better discussion about procedure in my gps surgery.

Just took my next paracetamol dose. Had to get husband to walk around my side of the bed and pass me water and tablets as turning over was going to cause more pain, can't go in like this. 😔

I had a little boy Smile very happy and grateful to have my boys after some losses last year.

I pushed for 3 hours with my eldest; that broke the piles good and proper.

I totally understand the natural birth part. I had forceps and tears and an epi with my eldest. It was a very very long and challenging birth.

I chose an ELCS as I also have ulcerative colitis and honestly it's the best thing I could've ever done.

Best of luck.
