(PIC BELOW)

I’m currently at work, been to the toilet for a number two and come to look down I see a bit of bright red blood on the tissue? (I checked to make sure it was definitely coming from my vagina and not my bottom)

baby is kicking and moving fine, I’m not cramping as it happened so I don’t know if it’s because my (poop) irritated my uterus?
my bump is tight, but I’m sure that’s normal too.
I’ve been in a number of times to the hospital for cramping/low back ache but they checked for premature labour and it was all fine.
seeing this was just not what I need!

Low back pain is a clear indication of labor starting, especially if the baby isnt lying in the standard way ie breech or sideways or facing backwards. I would call the midwives and get advice asap

100% let them know.

Labour pain can be confined to back so definitely get checked out!

As you've already had leaking fluid definitely get checked today
My labour started as back pain
It might be due to her position
You've already had steroids so try not to worry too much if you're in labour now
Good luck

I’m currently waiting for triage to have a room, they wanted to see me, best to be safe I know! It’s a very strange time, I feel absolutely exhausted by it all, getting to sleep at night with the low back aching has been proven difficult

Another update!
Everything with baby is fine, though I had a test for pre term labour likelihood and it had come back positive, asked me to stay overnight again as labour could start within 24 hours.
I thought the test I had last week was this test but the waters leaking is a completely different test!
they have said it’s not always accurate and it doesn’t necessarily mean I will go in to labour though they have to take precautions.
there’s no plan as of yet of what’s happening so I feel a little lost again 😟
they also stayed that they have found some bacteria in my urine sample and they’re checking it over, I’ve been on antibiotics since Tuesday night… so unsure why I would have an infection unless they aren’t working.

How are you doing now OP?

Bella rose came 34 weeks and 1 day, 21st July weighing a good 6lb! 🥰
I ended up getting an infection in my waters, even though when they scanned me I had hardly any left!
they advised a c section that day.
she’s currently in neonatal doing extremely well, feeding is being established by breast milk via boob and bottle for when I can’t be around (2 year old at home)
She was on oxygen for about 5 days but has been off for 3 days just with air! She has jaundice also but it’s nearly below the line. finding it some what difficult with the guilt of leaving her at the hospital daily, I’ve managed to stay over one night that’s it as child care is a struggle so I travel daily with my other half to visit her and try her on the boob to practice her latch, she’s so tiny they said she will take a bit longer to get the hang of it.

Congratulations! What a fantastic update.

I know it must be a massive wrench but try no to feel guilty. You are leaving her in the place she can be well cared for and by spending that time with your toddler you are investing in their relationship too as there is less likely to be confusion and resentment on your older child’s behalf.

Hope you have both your babies home for good very soon.
