@Jomummy1013 i am only 6 weeks due 8th February.
Hello to all on this this thread and good luck to anyone trying. My nausea is awful today x

Aw lovely. You're a little bit behind me. I am due around 21st Jan x
I am suffering from nausea but it's not every day.

I had hg so an awful pregnancy tbh. Sick all the time

I was consultant led due to age but that did not bother me as just me want I was seen every 3w and had scans every few weeks which reassured me

Risk. They said they don't allow/like 40/40

That's over 40yrs to go over 40weeks. Esp with ivf

So I was induced sun early am. She came tue evening. Long painful tiring labour and lots of contractions but took ages to dilate

Then placenta erupted and blood everywhere. I was rushed to theatre and baby blondes given to daddy

3 blood transfusions and another 3 days in hospital

Tbh nhs were outstanding in their care to me

Hello everyone, so lovely that so many of you replied. Congrats to all the babies and pregnancies on here. 🥰🥰🥰
Trying to address everyone I am scared because this was not a planned pregnancy and imagining I will be 50 with a 6 year old is overwhelming.
I also have a 17 yo and a 6 year old so hoping they will adapt okay.
I am scared of higher risks of complications during pregnancy. Extra worries about baby having any issues etc.
Are there extra tests we need to have etc? I really want to tell my youngest as I have severe sickness and he is really worried about mummy and want him to know that I’m fine just carrying a baby but scared something will go wrong and he will get really upset.
I’m just a mess.
Sending love to you all. 🥰🥰🥰

If you can afford private there are NIPT tests (blood test) that detect downs/edwards from 10 weeks. Think they're same labs as nhs uses. NHS scans are obviously generally from 12 weeks, depending on your provider/history etc. And they may do blood test to see if you qualify for nipt first, so can mean waiting for those appointments and results before you get to do nipt test. So can end up being extra weeks from when it's possible for you to know. Maybe if you ask early about getting these done you'll be tested sooner but no idea.

Hi, the aspirin helps reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia. One of the risks of pre-eclampsia is age and a long gap between last pregnancy and this one.

https://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/health-information/low-dose-aspirin-in-pregnancy-to-prevent-pre-eclampsia

I had eclampsia (which is very rare) with my first born and pre-eclampsia with my next two. This is my key worry as age is not on my side.

I had my son at St Thomas and was part of a study at Kings College when I had my daughter. I took aspirin through my last two pregnancies. Funny story, a woman in Tesco refused to sell it to me because I was pregnant 😂

Hello everyone. Will def ask questions about aspirin and extra tests when see MW. Not going for booking appointment until 8 weeks. X

Hi I’m 43 due when 44 scared x

airmaxJ · 19/06/2023 17:01

It also says on Google that aspirin reduces risks associated with miscarriage which I don't know is true of not but worth taking anyway

airmaxJ · 19/06/2023 17:02

@Starjay7 and @Jaystarlight very similar names 😊

Just had my 4th at 43 with a huge age gap (17 yrs)
Feel like a brand new mum, lots of 2nd guessing myself, lots of anxieties.

I live in a small town so lots of people felt the need to comment on my pregnancy, and in all honesty i felt i had to justify myself ( kind of ruined it for me).
But everytime i look at him i feel a massive swell of love ❤❤
Yes im knackered, but i dont think any different to any other new mum.

Enjoy every second op. It is really a blessing 🙂

How rude! I hope you told them to piss off! 😊

Mummy2B1983 · 20/06/2023 07:41

Congrats on the pregnancy! I hope you have some reassurance on this group. :) I have to take aspirin as I'm over 40 and have had a couple of extra growth scans. I've just had one at 28 weeks and have another at 36. The midwife also said because of age you can be induced should you want to be if not early or haven't had baby on due date. Xx They do look after over 40 mums & monitor us closely. I hope this puts your mind at rest a bit. Xxxx ❤️

theDudesmummy · 20/06/2023 07:45

Had my one and only baby at very nearly 46. He's 14 now, i will be 69 next month. I don't believe I am any more tired than anyone else!

theDudesmummy · 20/06/2023 07:45

Not 69, 60!!!!!

Mummy256 · 07/07/2023 16:24

@allthingsred
People are so rude sometimes!
I'm 40 and just had my second baby. Like you 17 years age gap between my first and the baby.

Got lots of comments about my age etc.
Wish that sometimes people mind their own business.
