Who’s getting early scans?
I have one booked for July 15th, I should be 8 weeks and 6 days by this point so hoping to see something that resembles a gummy bear!

PeeBeee · 27/06/2023 13:26

@Ems1992 i am booked in for next Friday when I should be around 6+5!! Feel like I am walking around in limbo land until then for it to sink in because 90% of the day, I don’t ‘feel’ pregnant. This few weeks after a positive pregnancy test is weirdddd!!

moosey89 · 27/06/2023 13:28

@Ems1992 me! Thursday, 5.30pm (they didn't have any earlier times, urgh!). I'm terrified but also hoping to cross off that first step of seeing a heartbeat. I'll be having regular private scans probably through until around 16 weeks.

90mamabear · 28/06/2023 22:12

Me ! I had one as I was concerned this week at 5+4 and no hesrtbeat yet so I have to get a repeat one at 6+0 and I'm now terrified !!! Wish I had waited to 7 weeks !!!

@Ems1992 I’m also getting an early scan next Thursday when I will be 8 weeks. Really hoping all will be ok and it will help my anxiety a bit. Symptoms disappearing on and off is not helping much!!

Sparkles512 · 30/06/2023 08:59

I had a scan last week at around 7-8 weeks. It was nice to see the baby 'blob' and could see the heart beating 🥰
12 week scan is booked for the end of July.
We have told both sets of parents and sister in law. Keeping everything crossed that we get to 12 weeks 🤍

Ems1992 · 30/06/2023 09:57

I am so very nervous as my other pregnancies I’ve been deathly sick from 5 weeks onwards and this time I feel nothing except severe exhaustion to the point I can’t even be bothered to engage in conversation 😂 I know they say every pregnancy is different but if I just felt a tiny bit of what I did before I would feel more reassured!

Caths456 · 30/06/2023 10:41

Hey everyone! I had a scan today at what would be 7 weeks according to my last period but the scan is reading 5+5… she said it is too early and I have to go back in 2 weeks! I’m surprised because I’ve been taking the max dose of cyclizine for sickness with over a week, so I must’ve had a really early positive around 8dpo on a digi.
kind of disappointed but fingers crossed things will be grand in two weeks!

90mamabear · 30/06/2023 12:21

@Caths456 hi!! I hope all is well :) did you get to see much today on the scan? Is there a little heartbeat or too early ? I hope the two weeks flies for you x x

moosey89 · 30/06/2023 12:23

Unfortunately not great news for me - really slow heartbeat (meant to be 7+4 but measured at 7) which almost certainly means a miscarriage is imminent. Been referred to the EPU for a follow up scan which will be in around 10 days :(

Yep there is a heartbeat but it was literally a tiny round blob. She said it is so early there’s nothing to see! I had to ask if the heartbeat was there.
she also mentioned that I had PCOS, never been diagnosed and conceived 3 times on the first go so I was surprised.

@moosey89 im so sorry. Thinking of you cx

90mamabear · 30/06/2023 12:37

@moosey89 my heart is broken for you. I am so so sorry ❤️❤️❤️🥲 xx I will be thinking of you and praying

Sending love to all who need it…

@Caths456 i was told I had PCOS before conceiving my daughter 4 months later! Then by my 12 week scan all cysts had gone - something to do with hormones balancing it out… so possibly by your 12 week scan there will be nothing to see :-)

Ebonythoughts · 30/06/2023 15:32

@moosey89 I’m so sorry to hear that. Praying you’re ok. Be kind to yourself x

catemck · 30/06/2023 16:34

Hey everyone! Hope it's ok if I join :) EDD 22/02/24. 3rd pregnancy and feeling really bloated already! Confused never had this with my previous pregnancies and my last one was twins! Feeling the tiredness already too. Also getting evening sickness whilst making dinner (great) 😂 hope you're all well anyway! Xx

Catchafallingstar7 · 30/06/2023 22:42

Hi all my EDD is 29/02! I can’t believe it. A leap day baby! so I could be in the March birth club but DD arrived early and DS arrived late. This is my 3rd DC.

only 5+1 but I feel HUGE. Worried about keeping this secret. Maxi dresses at the ready!

Private scans in my area have shot up in price. So unless I’m worried about anything specifically (of course I have the 1st trimester nerves) - I’m going to try to hold out until 12 week scan at the end of august. It’s going to be a long summer.

catemck · 01/07/2023 05:54

@Catchafallingstar7 I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels huge! 😂 I've had to order baggy clothes to help conceal and just be comfy haha!

How much are private scans in your area? I found one for £75 which I booked for the end of next week, as I'm eager to know if I'm having twins again!

Anyone else have a significant age gap with their previous pregnancies? It's been 8 years since my last and wondering how different this pregnancy is going to feel!

My daughter will be 6 when this baby arrives, very nervous to start all over again!!’

catemck · 01/07/2023 11:31

@Ems1992 feels like a lifetime ago doesn't it! I'm thinking now I'm in my 30s I may feel it a bit more compared to my previous. Especially with having 3 kids now too haha! I'm going to make the most of this pregnancy though, as it'll more than likely be my last!

Ems1992 · 01/07/2023 14:48

@catemck Me too! My daughter I did the whole thing alone! Even my scans… This time around I have a husband! So it is very very different for me… Excited but I honestly think I find being on my own easier 😂 there’s nobody to hate when there’s nobody fast asleep next to you whilst you are up all night!!!

Namechange192727171 · 01/07/2023 23:15

12 year age gap between my girls! Will be 2.8 years when this one is born so looking forward to them (hopefully) playing together in the future!

catemck · 02/07/2023 12:53

@Ems1992 hahaha I know what you mean! I'm already feeling miffed when my partner is sound asleep and I'm awake most of the night with insomnia! 🤣 So lovely you have someone to do everything with this time around :) are you having many symptoms atm? Tiredness has really got hold of me today, think it's also the fact I'm not sleeping well at night!

catemck · 02/07/2023 13:16

@Namechange192727171 ahh I can imagine they will love playing together! There's about that age gap with me and my elder sister and we played well up until the early teenage years haha.
How did you find your pregnancy after a big gap? I feel like I've forgotten so much! Im sure it'll come flooding back though :)

Ebonythoughts · 02/07/2023 13:31

Anyone have any tips on managing nausea that isn’t sickness tablets, bands, ginger and ginger nut biscuits? I’m 8+5 weeks and tried pretty much everything. The only thing that seems to be working is eating slices of lime and green apples and I don’t think I can sustain myself on that for the foreseeable 🤢

Please tell me the nausea subsides after 12 weeks 🥺

90mamabear · 02/07/2023 16:31

@Ebonythoughts you might need hospital treatment ! If yo hate dehydrated you will need medication and fluids . May be hyperemisis x
