Since my last post got deleted I'll be a bit more gentle

Op I have a long history of anxiety, depression and anxiety. I have a severely disabled child. We didn't know this until she was about 16 months. She's been the absolute making of me. I've found more strength in being her advocate than I thought I had in me.

Your post is incredibly hurtful to those of us who do have a child who is disabled. Disabled children can be an absolute joy, and a blessing. It's not all bad. This isn't a journey you necessarily will to find yourself on. If you do, obviously adoption/care is an option.

OP has said she has anxiety, shes obviously worried about her ability to care for a disabled child I don't think this post was meant to upset anyone.

Care is an option if you feel you are unable to care for your child for any reason. If you are expecting a child that you have been told will likely be disabled and you feel you are unable to cope then please speak to your midwife about your concerns/wishes and they will be able to help you. If this is just a worry that you have then you may need help coping with anxiety, again speak to your midwife or gp.

@Cuppasoupmonster obviously not because they will have tried their hardest to raise their child and do what is right for them and if residential care is what's best, then that's understandable.
OP hasn't even had her baby yet and has no idea if they have disabilities or not and is already thinking about shipping the baby off if she deems it too hard to care for.
