I’m just curious to know how old everyone was when they got pregnant with their first child? My friend is 30, single and in an absolute panic that she’s not there yet so just looking to give her some reassurance.

29 currently and 20 weeks pregnant. I had a termination at 25 (same partner) as I absolutely did not feel ready - turned 29 and suddenly started to panic I was leaving it too late in case we had any problems conceiving. We were very lucky to conceive right away. I'm now worrying that I am still to young and not ready but it is what it is. There is definitely not a one size fits all age bracket!

35, 36, 37, 37 all miscarried, 38 successful pregnancy, 40 miscarriage, 41 going ok so far.

After a repressive relationship from my teens until late 20s, I reconnected with an old friend and quite quickly settled into a happy and secure relationship - however fun was our priority until I got to my mid 30s!

I had undiagnosed fertility issues but have been able to get treatment for it. I think if we’d got together earlier we would have tried for a family earlier but no point thinking about what ifs - we’ve got there now x

I was 28 and then 30. My sister has just had her first at 32. I have cousins who had their firsts in the last couple of years at 39/40!

17, worked out well for us but I was made to feel bad about it. I was closer in age to my babies than I was to some of the other mums.

30 something seemed the most common age.

verabarbleen · 29/01/2023 19:10

I was 29 when pregnant and 30 when gave birth to my first. I’m now pregnant again at 38 (different partner) and all being well will give birth when 38.

one of my friendship groups all have kids and all had their first before me. Another all have kids but had their firsts a few years after me and another friendship group (friends from school) none of them have kids of their own yet and are all 37/38.

It’s all so varied. 30 definitely isn’t panic time yet.

How did you manage to have your first child 6 times?

Why did you choose that poster to call out instead of literally everyone else?

Borgonzola · 29/01/2023 20:31

@ChilliHeelerFanClub
Because

  • my baby is 6 months old still
  • we discussed it not long ago
  • I am a little autistic and enjoy numbers Smile
Noonesperfect · 29/01/2023 20:31

33 baby one
37 baby two
