I think the best thing for her to do is another test, try and get a clear answer then go from there. Hopefully she gets her blood results back soon but she needs to eat. Pregnant or not, she will make herself ill

GoT1904 · 22/01/2023 23:39

Sorry. But for 8 weeks the line is still very faint. Frustrating that the doctor won't refer her for a scan yet. :(

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 13:09

Quick update ahe called the hospital because she had her bloods done through the doctors the person said she isnt pregnant and her hcg levels are below 5 and she had taken her blood test on tge 16th January 2023,lol they were soo incorrect because she took her bloods on the 19th and she called the doctors to get her results and they stated they dont have her bloods yet as it can take up to a week and all they have is her early pregnancy results which all came back negative for any abnormalities and normal for urine... She is now awaiting a phone call from the doctor

I meant negative of the symptoms they detect in the first appointment of pregnancy

Hcg bloods don't take a week.
They do the sample and then 48 hours later do another sample and the Hcg is supposed to have doubled.

The routine bloods that the midwife does at booking is just a full blood count and HIV test, they don't check hcg levels.

This all sounds really muddled up.

Why did her doctor do bloods? It's not normal for the doctor to do bloods to confirm pregnancy.

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:19

They normally do where i am from and she only got her bloods on 19th January because she was getting faint lines so they transferred her to a doctors surgery that do it as her doctors don't, she called early pregnancy unit and they gave her incorrect information as stated above

OP posts:
Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:20

She only got one blood test to confirm her pregnancy

OP posts:
Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:22

The doctors dont have no information on her hcg blood test results only the first midwife appointment results

OP posts:
Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:29

I meant they normally take 3-1 week for blood test results i am pregnant myself and i had to wait 5 days for my hcg level results as i was in the same boat as her but i had a private scan which confirmed everything is ok with baby so far unfortunately she cannot afford it... I was told that in early pregnancy everyone has a chance of a missed miscarriage but normally u will have to wait for a 12 week scan to confirm this

OP posts:
Overthebow · 23/01/2023 15:31

So is her hcg level under 5 now? And they said from those results she’s not pregnant? If that’s correct then unfortunately it does sound like she may have miscarried or had a chemical pregnancy.

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:33

No its incorrect information, as she called the doctors and they dont have he hcg results and as i stated before the hospital stated she had her blood test on the 16th but she had her blood test on the 19th at another doctors surgery,if she had a chemical or miscarriage she would be bleeding and cramping by now but she isnt

OP posts:
SnakeOiler · 23/01/2023 15:35

This is very confusing OP.

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:36

I am soo confused myself if i didn't attend with her on the 19th January for her hcg blood test i would have said to her she got her dates muddled up

ok there may have been a mix up or they may have access to her results. Has she taken another pregnancy test? If not get her to do one today. Can she call her doctors to get the correct results?

Hopefully it isn't a miscarriage, but they don't always result in bleeding/cramping at this stage. a missed miscarriage can have no symptoms or bleeding at this stage and may not be picked up until a scan.

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:42

She just texted me she has appointment with the doctor at 10:30 am

If there was a mixed up the surely the doctors would have had her hcg results aswel? Miscarriage, eptopic u will have slight bleeding or cramping at this stage thats what the doctors told me... Yeah im guessing it could be a miss miscarriage as u dont have any symptoms but it could be that her hcg levels are high/ low that it dont detect on a pregnancy test hense why faint lines... So confused ill keep u all updated

You can have symptoms with a missed miscarriage

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:50

Oh okay but she has no bleeding or cramping all her pregnancy signs are there, i know with most miscarriages u still get pregnancy symptoms also so its all soo confusing.

OP posts:
Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 15:52

I meant with a miss miscarriage u can still get pregnancy symptoms... But no symptoms of a misscarrige

OP posts:
ThisIsTotallyNewInformation · 23/01/2023 15:58

I miscarried at just over 8 weeks, it took a couple more weeks maybe a bit longer for the line to fade. I wouldn't generally tell people to go off the darkness of lines but if you were 8 weeks pregnant you'd have a very dark line, that line doesn't look like an 8 week pregnancy. It doesn't sound like it'd be terrible if this wasn't a continuing pregnancy, hopefully she can get help and she's in a place of safety.

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 16:00

Tbh this is why i dont normally post threads on here people always think the worse... She clearly has low hcg levels doesn't indicate it isn't a healthy baby in her womb

People can have a hook effect u know

People can have a hook effect u know

Thats normally around 17 weeks though. You wouldn't get it this early.

Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 16:06

Even the doctors stated that she can happen all i do is wait for hcg results and she has a doctors appointment tomorrow aswel, if she qas experiencing a miscarriage then when she called 111 today why would they state that they wont scan her and from her symptoms it doesn't sound like a misscarrige or an eptopic pregnancy?

OP posts:
Iamnothe1 · 23/01/2023 16:07

Actually the hook effect can happen around 7 weeks...
