I was absolutely blimmin frozen for my first trimester both times. Sleeping in pjs, thermals, duvet, hot water bottle and three blankets.

Pidge · 03/02/2008 20:08

I'm feeling very very cold too - am 6 weeks. We have the central heating on and I'm wearing a warm top, thick jumper and a fleece.

I've been blaming it on low blood pressure (mines very very low) plus I always have poor circulation and feel the cold.

Though, in my last two pregnancies, I do remember later on (i.e in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters) feeling warm all the time.

hothell - I'm exactly the same constantly cold especially hands and feet DP keeps saying that its like a sauna in the house with the heating so high but I'm cold all the time so I'm hoping its normal. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and have been the same since about 6 weeks pregnant. HTH

skinnyj · 03/02/2008 20:11

Yes with my 1st I was freezing all the time - even remeber going shopping & having to buy a thermal vest to put on!

bohemianbint · 03/02/2008 20:12

I'm the same, but not sure if that's just because I always seem to get knocked up around the beginning of December!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 03/02/2008 20:12

Well I'm 27 weeks and still freezing!

BabiesEverywhere · 03/02/2008 20:16

Oooh, BabiesEverywhere, congratulations! How many weeks are you? My DS is almost 18 months and I was trying to avoid another August birthday (everyone on DP's side is August) but there ya go...

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 03/02/2008 20:34

Yes me too - almost fluey shivery too. Very disconcerting and very annoying! It suddenly lifted at around 12 weeks.

bethoo · 03/02/2008 20:37

i am always cold downstairs as no radiators in living room!!!

lis496 · 04/02/2008 14:12

Hello Hot!

Early pregnancy (in fact, all the way through week 13...) I had shivers and felt 'cold on the inside'. Hard to explain, but no external heat source could seem to banish it! I am pretty sure it is down to hormones, because it was similar to a shivery feeling I would sometimes get before my period, but MUCH stronger. In fact, in very early pregnancy sometimes the cold shivers would be so strong that I'd feel nauseous and almost want to throw up.

I am now 15 weeks and have these shivers very rarely. Still cold all the time though - but not those same hormone-induced attacks!

Me too. Was freezing my ass off. We had to have 2 quilts on the bed because I was double wrapping myself in the first one and pulling it off my partner in the night. Now at 32 weeks I tend to get too hot. That and heartburn in the middle of the night. Congrats and good luck, I cant wait to have my baby..

BabiesEverywhere · 04/02/2008 17:07

bohemianbint, Counts quickly on fingers, think I am 13 weeks now, due date of 08/08/08

brendar75 · 04/02/2008 17:12

Oh hurray, I thought it was me being weird - 12 wks and freezing cold!

spicemonster · 04/02/2008 17:23

Were you pg in the winter last time?

When I was pregnant, I used to come home from work, run a bowlful of hot water and dip my boobs into it because my nipples were so cold they really, really hurt.

Sorry if that's tmi

It got better in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.

ThePFJ · 04/02/2008 18:41

Spicemonster I had to do exactly the same. Wow.. now I feel SO much better. Thanks xx

tallbirduk · 04/02/2008 21:43

not sure about the nipple thing (although that did make me smile )- but I am 20 weeks and freezing.

I am usually on the cold side anyway, but I'm sure it is worse a the moment and feel cheated because I was looking forward to "feeling warmer because of an increased blood volume" that I was promised as part of the pregnancy package!

(also still waiting for the glowing skin and luscious locks as well mind you....)

splishsplosh · 04/02/2008 21:51

I'm 6 weeks, and freezing too, I'm sitting here shivering, even though the heating's only just gone off - my back hurst from being so tense from cold... weird

bohemianbint · 05/02/2008 11:48

I asked midwife about this this morning, and she said if anything we should all be warmer.

So, we're all just nesh then.

ThePFJ · 06/02/2008 17:31

In my case 'glowing' skin never came. My hair looks slightly better, but tangles more. In fact most of the time I look pale, and like.. well.. crap.

My mum swears I should be glowing. But I'm not. And I don't think it's going to happen until I am in the delivery room...
glowing with sweat.

I guess for some of us that wonderful glowing thing never happens. Sigh.

ThePFJ · 06/02/2008 17:34

Hehe bohemian, I am called Nesh all the time.

Had to find out what that word meant though, as I am a southern/sw born and new to the north...

Hyakamooks · 16/02/2008 07:02

I've got the freezing feet and inner chill, too, and I just learned that they're a sign of anemia (also tired all the time)...time to get my blood checked!

belgo · 16/02/2008 07:57

I think it's harder to regulate your own body temperature whilst pregnant - if it's cold you'll feel colder, if it's warm, you'll feel warmer - at least that's been my experience!
