Early withdrawal and finishing with oral

Hi

need some advice here. My DH and I DTD without condom because we didn’t have any left but I realised I was being risky so he pulled out very early and I gave him oral to finish off. He definitely ejaculated in my mouth and not in my vagina. However I am mid cycle and likely around ovulation. I clearly didnt think this through in the heat of the moment and now extremely anxious about the possibility of pregnancy. I took the MAP. What is the likelihood that I could get pregnant from this incident?

Almost nil I’d have thought with the MAP.

Ahleea · 03/12/2022 19:28

My only concern is that I think it was literally on my day of ovulation according to my app so I’m thinking MAP may yield ineffective. We were clearly very careless 😫

I honestly think you’ll be fine. We used withdrawal as a contraceptive for about 10 years with no mishaps then conceived immediately when we decided to. It actually is really hard to get pregnant that way.

AllOfThemWitches · 03/12/2022 19:32

Super unlikely, we've been using 'withdrawal method' for months now and no mishaps.

Ahleea · 03/12/2022 19:34

That is a relief to hear a positive story. I think I’ve been reading so much about Precum pregnancies that it is getting me super anxious

good to hear another positive story about this. I mean he withdrawed super early it wasn’t at the last second or anything so I know I didn’t get any ejaculation near me

Thing to remember is the reason that statistically withdrawal method has a high failure rate is because people don’t actually do it. Not the case here.

gamerchick · 03/12/2022 19:37

Withdrawal isnt a thing! It's something you do if pregnancy wouldn't be the end of the world.

It's unlikely but yanno, sometimes shit happens.

astronewt · 03/12/2022 19:39

It's unlikely, but not impossible that you will get pregnant from this. If pregnancy would be a bad thing for you, you really need to use contraception every time, because unwanted pregnancies aren't fun.

ArcticSkewer · 03/12/2022 19:39

pregnancy via pre-cum pretty much a myth told to teenagers to stop them taking risks (the real risk being a lack of withdrawal)

Ahleea · 03/12/2022 19:40

Pregnancy would be the end of the world in our situ. 2 DC already and couldn’t afford another. That’s why I’ve realised how could I have been so stupid to even consider PIV even though it was short lived. Never risked anything like this before. Always used a condom. It’s a one off incident that won’t happen again. But still extremely anxious during this TWW period.

Yes, this. There’s a small risk if he’d ejaculated just before you had sex but even then it is a small risk.

Ahleea · 03/12/2022 19:44

I know he didn’t ejaculate any other time that day at all as we were together all day and I asked him for reassurance. Also he peed before the incident. My only main worry is the fact it was at ovulation time and the MAP may be ineffective in that case

OP posts:
Magentax · 03/12/2022 19:45

Honestly you’ll be fine then. There is no sperm in pre-ejaculate.

astronewt · 03/12/2022 19:46

Pregnancy via pre-cum isn't a myth. Some men secrete sperm into pre-cum and some don't. You only find out whether the man you are sleeping with is a "secretor" when you get pregnant using the withdrawal method.

You should never use withdrawal as your only or main means of contraception unless pregnancy wouldn't be a big problem.

Magentax · 03/12/2022 19:48

Withdrawal method has a typical use failure rate very similar to condoms. It’s not perfect but it’s pretty reliable as long as the man is in fact withdrawing as happened here.

astronewt · 03/12/2022 19:49

WebMD: 40% of men in studies had sperm in their pre-ejaculate. Some men always have sperm in their pre-cum, and some men never do, which is why withdrawal works for some couples.

Ahleea · 03/12/2022 19:53

Well i probably can’t be certain until the TWW is over then and I take a test / await AF to arrive. I’ll update the thread with what happens.

Why would MAP be ineffective at the time of ovulation as that’s the most likely time someone would become pregnant and therefore the point at which you would take said MAP… would kind of make it redundant if it didn’t serve this purpose.

The MAP works by delaying ovulation. If you've already ovulated when you take it, it's useless.

Yeah I’ve done so much research on this. I have learnt MAP delays ovulation and that’s how it prevents pregnancy. If an egg already has been released then it cannot stop fertilisation or implantation. I consider it quite crappy for that reason.

My DH is adamant that this incident can’t get me pregnant as he ejaculated in my mouth and he is getting annoyed at me for keep going over it and stressing about it. He says it is nothing to worry over as he didn’t cum inside me and therefore says it is impossible for me to fall pregnant this way. Maybe he is just being naive or maybe I am an over worrier

OP posts:
astronewt · 03/12/2022 20:09

Well, let's hope he's right. The odds are in your favour, but no one will be able to say whether it's happened or not until your period comes.

Lolacat1234 · 03/12/2022 20:12

I've had two pregnancies - one I fell after taking the MAP and the other I was caught out with the withdrawal method. So yes it can happen but it's done now you have taken the MAP so will just have to wait and see. You'll probably be fine likelihood is very small.

Can I ask did he withdraw right before he climax or did he withdraw with plenty time to spare?
