hi v new to this. I am 8 weeks pregnant but still believe that the test can't have been positive. I have wanted to get pregnant so can't understand why I feel like this. I have sore boobs, nausea, emotional and tiredness and of course no period. The first test I did was positive and the second test said it hadn't worked but had a positive result. Doctor seemed to accept this. saw midwife at 7 weeks who did no tests and i won't see again until 16 weeks.I have a scan booked for December and am convinced there will be no baby and see me as a big fraud!! Does anyone else feel like this?

I felt like this both my pregnancies, Fudgeling. Until you can feel movement it is soooo hard to believe there is a growing life inside you. And now I can't believe that dd and ds were ever inside me - it is such a miracle. Congratulations.

wonderful news for you! yep, i sure didn't believe it either and did lots and lots of tests! at our scan i thought they were going to say 'well mrs hellomama, you have been making this up, silly lady...' But it was true, and he is the most wonderful little boy ever. I miss being pregnant though! Good luck with everything and welcome to mumsnet!

I did 3 tests (all positive) before I believed it and even after a scan (at 5 weeks) I still felt like a fraud. I needed bigger clothes by about 14 weeks and felt really embarrassed looking at the maternity clothes.

Even now (26 weeks) I know the baby is there! but I can't quite believe that it is going to come out and be a real person that I have to care for!

Being pregnant is the most bizarre experience of my life!

I din't beleive I was pregnant until my GP did a doppler thing at 16 weeks and I heard the heartbeat. Even then, I was still in disbelief until I saw DS on the ultrasound. In fact, I sort of started to accept it when he started to kick at 18 weeks.

Believe me, even when your baby arrives, you'll still look in the cot and say, 'crikey - how did I do that?!'
