So had weird symptoms and had no period, I'm 3 days late so I took a test cos I wanted to know if I should book a smear test as I was waiting for after period ... I'm guessing by this test I'm pregnant... did all you older 1st time mums have healthy pregnancies? I've lost 3 babies in the past so I'm terrified I'll lose this ... I'm also guessing this is defo not a false positive!

Congratulations! How are you feeling 🙂

RebeccaCloud9 · 21/05/2022 18:14

Congratulations!

I'm 39 and pregnant - my age hasn't been mentioned once in midwife appointments. (Although I am feeling my age/unfitness level more this time round!)

Ceejay85 · 21/05/2022 18:26

@HereComesBaby2 I'm absolutely terrified if I'm completely honest ... I'm hoping to get past the 12 week stage this time

We’ve all been there- I think the 12 week scan is a big milestone . Good luck

lurchermummy · 22/05/2022 14:43

I was 37 when I had my DD - not really unusual these days at all. Congrats!

Ceejay85 · 13/08/2022 08:08

I realise I never posted an update ... I am in fact pregnant and now 17 weeks and 1 day, we've heard the babies heartbeat last week and 2 days later went for a gender scan and we're having a little boy 💙 we also had a 4D scan thrown in for free and it was absolutely amazing ❤️

ChickpeaFlour · 13/08/2022 08:15

That is so exciting and what a lovely update , congratulations! I’ve had our little boy at 43 and it’s been an extra joy as had our first at 28

whereiwanttobe · 13/08/2022 08:19

What a lovely start to the weekend. I've got a tear or two in my eye after reading this. Many, many congratulations.

sellthesizzle · 13/08/2022 08:36

Congratulations! I was 36 with my first DD and 37 with my second and all good - two gorgeous healthy girls.

Chichz · 13/08/2022 08:51

I didn't se your original message OP, but what a lovely thread 😊 I was early/mid-thirties when I had my first (and only!) LO a couple of years ago and no-one mentioned a thing about age - I think if you're in good health, they don't really consider it until around 40 now? Best of luck with everything! X

Chichz · 13/08/2022 08:51

See*!

Michellebops · 13/08/2022 09:42

I was 38 when I had my daughter, no issues, green pathway all the way.

Congratulations and best wishes ❤️

Cakecakecheese · 13/08/2022 10:57

Congratulations!

My baby is 2 weeks old now and I'm 41. I was worried about my age but most doctors and midwives said I'm not that old and to stop worrying!

Pinktruffle · 13/08/2022 14:08

I've had previous miscarriages, had my first succesful pregnancy at 36, just before I turned 37 and my current pregnancy which was a surprise, I got pregnant at 38, I'm currently 39 and 31 weeks.

arb123 · 13/08/2022 14:10

Congrats! Conceived at 37, had baby at 38. FTM and no issues.

GinnyBee · 14/08/2022 09:05

Congratulations! What a lovely update 😊

Gunpowder · 14/08/2022 09:07

So thrilled for you OP. What a lovely surprise! X

Ceejay85 · 14/08/2022 09:52

Awwww thank you all for the messages, we are absolutely thrilled considering baby was not planned (I was told I wouldn't be able to have kids) ... everyone is super excited and baby is being so spoilt already ❤️

Not gonna lie, nausea and morning sickness was horrendous and i was put on cyclizine just so i could finally eat something, but thankfully it appears to have subsided now as only been sick once in 4 weeks.

Had to request a new midwife and the other one I had angered me beyond belief but the new one is amazing!

Baby wouldn't behave on dating scan so end up having 2 scans the 2nd being on the hottest day of the year 🥵🥵 2nd time still didn't wanna be scan but we manged to get a date as he stretched just the once and the sonographer got it!

Now we are just waiting to feel the baby kick but as I'm a size 22 I've been told I might not feel anything till 20-22 weeks
