Damp underwear and crazy increase in movements

Hi all,

I'm 36 weeks exactly.

I usually have a sleepy baby who gives me a few periods of movements a day and is more active in the evening but nothing too crazy.

This afternoon I went to the loo and noticed my knickers were wet so I changed them and carried on, cooked tea for the kids and went to the loo again to find they were wet again so I put a pad in.

Since then the baby has been moving so much more than usual. Like they are unable to stay still it'd so strange.

I've just been to the loo and my pad feels slightly damp, it may be a super absorbant one but my knickers showed the wetness more than the pad. To add to this it is definitely not urine but could it be watery discharge or sweat maybe?!

Am I being really naive thinking this isn't my waters? I had to have them artificially ruptured in my previous labour to speed up the process but have read that when they go it can be trickles not gushes.

Thanks

Thank you! Baby is here she's almost a week old and she's on neonatal and I'm still recovering on the ward. The induction wasn't great, they gave me prostin and then said they could break my waters to which I reminded them there weren't any, but they tried anyway and just caused major distress and discomfort and caused me to just bleed. I went straight onto the drip though and from then on wards it was brilliant. I was examined 4 hours after drip attached and they said inwas only 2cm so wanted to cry but 2 hours later the baby arrived. They knew I was dilating quickly from that point though as they kept having to go in and put clips on baby's head because her HR was dropping below mine. I'm not sure if any of that was due to the stress of induction or the lack of fluid but everyone who cared for me on that day and post birth have been amazing! Baby struggled to breath on her own so she's just getting to a point where she isn't needing the machines and she also needed ivabx but hoping to get her back to my bedside and hopefully home this weekend.

Oh my WORD, @Robbo1010 - what an experience! I'm so glad all went well in the end - a lesson perhaps for some medical staff that they should not be so quick to dismiss what the person at the other end of the process is feeling and saying. And what wonderful support from the lovely vipers on Mumsnet.

I do hope you get satisfactory response from PALS.

Congratulations on your new daughter. 🌷
