Aching legs third trimester

I’m 30 weeks pregnant with DC2 and my legs are driving me up the wall, I may actually lose the plot if this continues another 10 weeks.
My thighs are so so achey all the time. No try not is comfortable, walking makes it a bit better but then I pay for that afterwards with worse SPD pain. And then at night I get such restless legs I’m thrashing them around in bed even though it doesn’t actually help.

I don’t remember it being this bad with DD, but it is driving me crazy. It’s like it’s more than an ache, there’s a bit of a skin-crawling feeling on top. Is it likely to last to the end now, and does anything make it better??

No try not is comfortable should read nothing is comfortable.

It sounds like you need iron supplements. Mine were the same at a similar gestation, turned out my iron was low. Put on iron tablets and bought some iron infused water (spatone) from supermarket - legs were better in days

I did need to take iron with DD, but I had my 28 week blood test about a week ago and it was fine. But I guess it could be on the low side but just not requiring a prescription - nothing was mentioned to me, just that the bloods all came back fine.

Have a look at magnesium oil. You can buy it to spray and massage in. It sounds like you have what I call restless legs (not sure if this matches official description). Magnesium oil helps me.
I don't know if you're allowed it internally at all while pregnant but I'd recommend looking into it.

I’ve always had a combination of bad circulation and varicose veins (ideal when you’re 29!), I mainly blame the pill but pregnancy did seem to make them slightly worse. I had that feeling in the third trimester and would have to lie in bed with them raised to get the blood to flow back down. It was like all the blood was stuck in my feet and they just felt so heavy. It’s probably to do with the fact you have loads of extra blood too but have heard it being iron related as well.

Thanks, I’ll definitely look into the magnesium. It’s definitely restless legs in the evening in bed, I don’t know if the general achey unpleasant feeling that I have throughout the day is mild restless legs, or something different.
Thinking about it, I do get the same achey feeling in my thighs when I have my period, so maybe it’s a hormonal thing, or something physiological where Braxton hicks (which I have a lot) and period cramps can cause something. I’m not a dr though so that might be nonsensical!

I’ve had this since around 20 weeks.
I’m 35 weeks now and it’s been so bad that I could barely walk. I kept getting told it was part of pregnancy and to the move around more so my bones didn’t stiffen.
Last week I was put on iron supplements and told to use a birthing ball quite regularly during the day. Both of these have helped massively!
The birthing ball has been a godsend and I noticed the difference the first night trying to sleep.

I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and my legs are also driving me insane! I'm anaemic and I've been on iron since 28 weeks, but i have a feeling it may not be enough. Had bloods on Friday so guess I'll find out soon...
