Elijar or Zak - for a boy obviously. Am only 10 weeks pg, so early on in the baby naming game. I like both of them, but dont know any Elijar, which I think is a bit more of an unusual name. So think I'm leaning towards that one at the moment.

Your opinions might halp me make a decision tho, so all thoughts greatfully recieved (even if you think they're awful)

Thanx

I quite liked the name Echo or Eko like the guy from the tv series 'lost' or is that just weird? ...but he ended up called emilio

Really wanted Elijah with mine, but DH didn't want to go all biblical, love the name though. Like the name Zak too but there are roughly a million of them around here (slight exaggeration but not much).

As Belgo pointed out, Elijah gets shortened to Eli in some cultures.

Lots of Jewish male Eli and Elie's (pronounced Ellie, like the English girl's name) here in France.

I prefer Zachary shortened to Zack.

I prefer Elijah (correct spelling) as probably not as popular as Zach.

Zak

Prefer Elijah to Zach - and yes, definitely prefer correct spellings! You can of course call your baby whatever you like and spell it however, but be prepared for your child having a life time of his name misspelt if you go for something weird!
Personally the meanings of names were really important to me. We went for names that we liked the look and sound of, but they had to have meanings we liked too. I love the name Rebecca, but when I realised it means 'a noose' I just couldnt give it to dd!
