flowergarden16 · 24/03/2022 11:55

Amazing @mrshodgy21

speake · 24/03/2022 12:11

Amazing news @mrshodgy21 congratulations!

Hope your scan goes well today @Raindrops2015 🙏🏼

I can’t remember who asked to tag but I’m also on progesterone. Current dose until 12 weeks & then to start ramping it down between then & 14 weeks. The first time I took it I did it vaginally but I found it basically all came back out as soon as I stood up after… so I take it rectally aswell as nothing really comes out that way.

@Bridgey8 so sorry, hope you aren’t feeling too unwell with it. I’m not in England but I thought you all didn’t have to isolate now if you tested positive xxx

Bridgey8 · 24/03/2022 12:28

@speake don't have to isolate but not allowed into hospital for scan with covid sadly!

Skl2021 · 24/03/2022 12:31

Any advice, please!!!!??

I had an internal scan on Tuesday at 7w3 measuring 7w6d, the nurse showed us the screen and said sorry it's a very unclear picture, I asked her why is that, she said it could be for number of reasons but didn't say what. We could still see the heartbeat and had a picture. After she took the probe out and I cleaned myself I noticed brown spotting on the tissue paper. Didn't think anything of it, next day I had quite a lot of dark brown discharge come out in one go and then pale brown for the rest of the day. Today I'm having really bad cramps and back pain with some pinkish brown discharge throughout the day. The nurse had to go quite deep with pressure, I thought might be cervix but now I'm having bad cramps I don't feel reassured by the scan at all, the nurse was also 'cold' no affection at all despite working in an IVF clinic ☹️ this is my fifth pregnancy, all previous have ended in losses, this is the furthers I have got to.. I know people say cramps are normal and I understand but this is pretty much straight after the scan with brown spotting

Raindrops2015 · 24/03/2022 20:01

@sunnyd67 I've had brown spotting and cramps. I was absolutely terrified but scan today went really well. The internal probe has probably dislodged some old blood and the cervix can be irritated and bleed from exams and intercourse. Old blood could have also got on the camera lens thus distorting the image.

Guys, thank you for helping me through the last two day. So happy to have good news. Got to see baby wiggle about and measuring 2 days ahead. Feel like I've won the lotto.

speake · 24/03/2022 21:22

@Raindrops2015 fantastic news 💕

@sunnyd67 I’m so sorry, did she book you for a follow up scan? They say internal scans shouldn’t cause bleeding or miscarriage but I won’t have one now as my experience is that they’ve always caused me to bleed more… whether that is just dislodging old blood I’m not sure but it’s traumatic. I hope you’re ok - I would definitely see if you can book a follow up if you haven’t already been offered xxx

flowergarden16 · 25/03/2022 11:31

Hi all. Meant to ask. Has anyone has the dates earlier than thought. At the scan the doctor said was about 4 weeks but from my LMP I would have been 5+2. Already starting to think it means miscarriage incoming. Going back in ten days to hopefully see growth and 6 week embryo but wondered what other people's experiences have been!

arianasky · 25/03/2022 15:08

@mrshodgy21 @Raindrops2015 lovely news ladies 🌈💕

HoneyLemon29 · 25/03/2022 16:45

@flowergarden16
I've had this worry since my scan, I was 6 weeks, period was 6 weeks before and I ovulated bang on time 14 days after and they told me 5+4
I do have another scan at the hospital on Sunday as last scan was private. Can't help but worry

flowergarden16 · 25/03/2022 16:55

It's stressful isn't it. doctor told me it's fine and that you can conceive 24 hours after you ovulate plus you don't actually know exactly when you ovulated, but still. Fingers crossed for you x

HoneyLemon29 · 25/03/2022 17:11

@flowergarden16 did they see just the sac? I had a scan at hospital at 4+5 and they saw just a sac and they wouldn't date me off it.
I had a positive test at 8DPO as well so I just kept thinking if I truly am 3 days behind what I thought then surely I didn't get a positive at 5DPO if that makes sense?
They said baby was 3.5mm and I saw the heartbeat.
I was told at this early stage that if that curser doing the measurement is ever so slightly off, it can change you by days. And the only accurate date they can get is off the 12 week scan. I will keep you updated on what they say on Sunday, my dates should be 6+5 but if the private one was accurate then they'll say 6+2. That's if everything's even ok and I pray it is x

flowergarden16 · 25/03/2022 17:29

@HoneyLemon29 she saw a sac 2mm and said consistent with 4 weeks but not precise day: going back in two weeks and she is hoping it will be consistent with six weeks by then.

So I guess it's fine; just all nerve wracking at this time!

flowergarden16 · 25/03/2022 17:50

Now thinking that feels super small and maybe I am heading towards a miscarriage :-(

flowergarden16 · 25/03/2022 18:02

Sorry to keep going on. I would be over 5 week by LMP but ovulated in CD 19 so really
Think I would be around 5 weeks. Either that sac size is behind by at least 2-3 days :-(

scoutcat · 25/03/2022 18:56

I know it's hard @flowergarden16 but there really is lots of hope! These two weeks will drag but try to stay as busy as you can and we never know what's going on inside our bodies. A late ovulation and a late implantation can really add up to dates being off.

I have to wait two weeks to find out if this pregnancy is in the right place and it's awful!

scoutcat · 25/03/2022 19:00

What pregnancy vitamins is everyone taking? I nipped to Boots earlier and was amazed at the selection. They didn't have all this 4 years ago! I normally take Seven Seas as they don't make me feel sick but now I've seen the gummy ones I might try them!

barneymcgroo · 25/03/2022 19:09

The ones the midwife gave me - bottles of them! Folic acid, vitamins c and d.

flowergarden16 · 25/03/2022 19:18

Thanks @scoutcat - losing my mind a bit 🤯 did some googling and looks like the measurements to age aren't consistent. Some actually make my dates perfect, some a little out. Guess the only way we'll know is the next scan. With you in the stressful wait!! X

flowergarden16 · 25/03/2022 19:18

For vits I found the pregnacare made me feel sick so just taking folic acid and vitamin D

Bridgey8 · 25/03/2022 19:20

@scoutcat I take pregnacare Max!

For those worrying on dates I wouldn't get too hung up on it at the early stages as it's just soooo small. One tiny shift of measurement accounts for days. I was measured 3 days behind at 6+5 - caught up a day at 9 weeks and then at my last scan at 10 + 5 I was bang on. Will see what the 12 week scan brings!
