Hi mums, to anyone who's had their baby now after getting the covid jab, whether 1 or both doses, how are your babies doing now and how old are they now?

I just thought this thread might help those who are still not quite sure on getting the covid vaccination during pregnancy. Thanks mums.

I had both jabs but not yet had booster. Really easy pregnancy (but not birth) and now have a gorgeous healthy baby who sleeps beautifully, exclusively breastfed, putting on loads of weight, loves meeting lots of new people, and is extremely strong and alert.

Had two jabs in third trimester. Good pregnancy, great delivery, healthy, thriving baby.

She’s now 3 months and has just caught Covid from her school age brothers. She’s had it the easiest out of them all (mild fever for less than a day, bit snotty) Perhaps I conferred her some immunity?

Fai1 · 30/12/2021 06:25

@BorderGoat that's great! Happy for you and your baby 😊 How old is your baby now?

Had both jabs when pregnant and now have a happy healthy thriving 5 month old.

Strawberry0909 · 30/12/2021 06:32

Had both jabs in third trimester, no issues in pregnancy, long birth but healthy baby, breastfed putting on lots of weight

Carbis · 30/12/2021 06:43

I had both jabs in my second trimester. I have a lovely, thriving 2 month old now and had my booster last week.

Clarkey86 · 30/12/2021 07:06

I just came on to start a thread on this!

I had my little one last night - she’s 100% perfect, completely healthy, feeding well etc. I was double jabbed and caught covid at 37 weeks but couldn’t have been more grateful that I was jabbed as I had it mildly.

I would absolutely not have wanted to put her at risk by catching covid late in pregnancy without a vaccine Sad

If anyone is unsure, please go and get it. It’s so much safer to have it than risk complications later on.

Yes - double vaxed in third trimester. 18 week old baby and everything is and has been absolutely fine.

Interesting thread- congrats @Clarkey86! I am 37+5 and having my booster today. I’m not worried about any long term effects but I am a bit worried about feeling shit for a couple of days- or going into labour feeling poorly.. I had two Pfizer’s and today is a Moderna booster. I’m going to do it because of all the risks and I figured if I can get a boost of antibodies into baby now we’ll be fully stocked around the time when we go into hospital which is the bit I consider the highest risk really with midwives and other mums etc all in close quarters. I just don’t want to feel ill tonight! Last time with 2nd jab I had 2 days off work shivering and fluey in bed- doctor told me it’s a good sign as means your body is making antibodies.
I had both jabs 1 and 2 in 2nd trimester and zero issues, have had a really smooth pregnancy so far and now just waiting for bub to make an appearance! Xo

Clarkey86 · 30/12/2021 07:20

Good luck @sjxoxo! I couldn’t have my booster as I have to wait a bit longer after having covid, but I absolutely would have and just crossed my fingers I didn’t go into labour the day after!

Aw congratulations!

My DSis had both vaccines during pregnancy and has (not biased much) the most amazing little girl, now 3 months and just a delight. Her Trust was running online webinar type things with information and gave the chance to ask questions, if anyone is unsure perhaps it's worth them looking into.

Had my jabs at 20 and 28wks. Booster 2ams post delivery while breastfeeding. 2 older kids have covid (unvaxed under 12s) - fevers and 1-2 days of low appetite/sleeping. I have tested positive but only have a mild sore throat. Haven’t tested baby, but no issues with her - no fever/cough/runny nose. She has colic - but my older 2 did and she is no worse. Putting on weight, alert and looking around lots.

Namenic · 30/12/2021 07:33

Booster 2 weeks post delivery

BabyC21 · 30/12/2021 08:12

I had both doses while pregnant and have the healthiest most perfect 5 month old boy

Fai1 · 30/12/2021 10:19

@Borracha I guess you did pass on immunity through your antibodies! Glad to hear that baby isn't too poorly. That's great 😊

I had both jabs during my 2nd trimester and nkw have a beautiful 5 week old baby.
I had my booster jab last week and am combination feeding.

I know someone who caught covid at 5 weeks pregnany and was un-vaccinated.
She didnt take up the vaccine and now has it in her 3rd trimester again.

GuidingSpirit · 30/12/2021 11:11

Jab 1 at something like 32 weeks i think? This was back in June - DD is now 6 months old. We were also part of a study to see how antibodies were passed to baby during pregnancy, which makes me very proud. 😊

DD did have some health problems - she was IUGR and had sepsis, but these were not vaccine related. The IUGR started well before i had the vaccine as she dropped down the curves after each scan. The sepsis was caused by an undiagnosed GBS infection. In fact, during a two week stay in hospital neither of us caught covid, so i was very glad of the added protection of the vaccine!

Am mixed feeding and have since had jab 2 and booster so hopefully she's still getting lots of antibodies.

FluffMagnet · 30/12/2021 11:15

I had both jabs. DS is 11 weeks and doing really well. He caught Covid at 2 weeks old by completely asymptomatic. My sister had 2 jabs and booster and her newborn is also doing really well.

Candyflosscrochet · 30/12/2021 11:26

I had my first jab when 32wks pregnant and my second at 38.5wks.....baby had arrived at 37wks but perfectly healthy. Amazing straight forward delivery. He's now 6months, breastfeeds beautifully, sleeps amazing, and has started weaning. Also had my booster before Xmas but as far as we know, no-one in our household has caught it yet (6 of us with 3 being in college/school or nursery) (touching wood and keeping fingers crossed!!)

CurryandSnuggle · 30/12/2021 11:30

Thanks for this. I had booster yesterday but been feeling anxious. I’m 18 weeks tomorrow. Congratulations everyone xx

Chocoqueen · 30/12/2021 11:51

Had my first jab in my 2nd trimester and second in my third (pfizer) - baby is now a healthy, happy, gorgeous 4 month old 🥰

lilymty · 30/12/2021 12:06

I had my 1st jab while pregnant. My little girl is now 8 months old & out proforming milestones. She sleeps & eats well. Her sister had covid a few months ago but she never got it & I put that down to having immunity from me having the jab while pregnant

mariebaby3 · 30/12/2021 13:42

1st jab at the start of my third trimester. Baby born a little early but healthy and is now a very happy and healthy 6mo who’s hitting all her milestones :)

Alfixn · 30/12/2021 13:49

Had mine at 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy and also a booster recently while EBF. My LO is now 5 months old - beautiful, healthy and sociable, with a mighty sense of humour!

Despite being careful, I've had mild covid symptoms and a positive LFT this week, waiting on PCR results, but no signs of her being unwell yet and I'm glad she's getting the benefit of my vaccines too.
