Hi mums, to anyone who's had their baby now after getting the covid jab, whether 1 or both doses, how are your babies doing now and how old are they now?

I just thought this thread might help those who are still not quite sure on getting the covid vaccination during pregnancy. Thanks mums.

Mine isn't here yet, due next month, but when I got my first jab in June, one hundred thousand women had been vaccinated while pregnant and their babies were born without any complications due to the vaccine. When I got my second dose in August, the same was true for two hundred thousand women and their babies. Had my booster a couple of weeks ago and baby due in January.

Had jabs at 20 weeks and 28 weeks then booster when she was 6 weeks old (EBF), she’s absolutely perfect ☺️

No problems whatsoever and so we were out less than 24 hours after birth (elective section), she was 8lb 8 at 39’weeks, she’s now 11 weeks old and a gorgeous little smiley cherub! X

Not me but DSis had both jabs and booster during pregnancy and now has a healthy, beautiful little boy who is breastfeeding and putting on plenty of weight. No complications, straightforward 8 hour labour with no concerns throughout. No side effects from the jab, just an achy arm for a couple of days.

@Clarkey86

I just came on to start a thread on this!

I had my little one last night - she’s 100% perfect, completely healthy, feeding well etc. I was double jabbed and caught covid at 37 weeks but couldn’t have been more grateful that I was jabbed as I had it mildly.

I would absolutely not have wanted to put her at risk by catching covid late in pregnancy without a vaccine Sad

If anyone is unsure, please go and get it. It’s so much safer to have it than risk complications later on.

@Clarkey86 just beautiful. Many congratulations

Just want to add to mine, my 11 week old has just tested positive for COVID and other than bit of a fever you wouldn’t know.

She may have been like that anyway, but I like to think she has some antibodies from vaccines (in pregnancy and booster whilst BF) and that makes me very happy with my decision!

Fai1 · 02/01/2022 07:06

@Amz6219 ohh bless her! May she get well soon! But so glad to hear that she's only got it mildly. The antibodies are indeed doing their job! You made the right decision indeed 😊

I had moderna at 17 and 22 weeks. I have now a 8 weeks old beautiful baby, she is the sweetest, easiest, happuiest baby I have ever seen (might be biased Grin but MIL who has seen a lot of babies thinks the same)
So far she is doing great, hope it will stay the same! I had also many doubts at the time, i even cried in the car driving towards the vaccine center Confused but I wanted to protect me and my baby.
I will get the booster in couple of weeks.

My baby was born mid December and she is such a good little girl and is happy, healthy and putting on weight like a trooper!

I had my jabs at 13 weeks and 21 weeks pregnant. I had the booster 6 days after she was born (earliest I could get) and I'm hoping she's got antibodies as a result.

Anyone had vaccine prior to getting pregnant and has delivered a baby?

GrandDana · 12/04/2022 21:38

My daughter just Delivered 2 weeks early and breech. Very difficult delivery. Her spinal did not take she felt everything. Backstory, she received her second dose of the Covid Vaccine at 10 weeks pregnant. Well that is when the fingers and toes form. My grandbaby was born with 12 fingers and 12 toes. Also she had to be resubmitted to the Hospital for Post Partum Preclampsia. Other than the extra digits the baby is healthy. This is not from heredity as no one has had this happen in either family. I'm about 95% sure its from the vaccine. I do not recommend getting it in your 1st trimester.
