First pregnancy after years of IvF. I was 6 weeks yesterday. I am due to go for a scan in 2 weeks but I’m worried about how I haven’t started getting sick yet and what that means.

When did you start getting sick?

Never thought I’d be upset about not vomiting 🙈

Around 8 weeks. I was so worried about not being sick at 6 weeks. Then at 9 weeks I was questioning my entire life and thought I would never feel normal again. Enjoy it while it lasts ; )

beekeepershat · 26/11/2021 11:55

6 weeks with first
9 weeks with second

Lots of people have no sickness so it's no sure sign!

Good luck with baby x

JAR1981 · 26/11/2021 12:01

13 weeks and not yet!

spitneybrears · 26/11/2021 12:02

8 weeks the first time, was pretty brutal and lasted until 18 weeks.

6 weeks the second time, milder and literally disappeared overnight by 11 weeks (which panicked me, but all was fine!)

Maybepossibly22 · 26/11/2021 12:02

I had no sickness with DD1, almost 6 weeks with #2 and and nothing yet

Pinkhippotato · 26/11/2021 12:03

Please don't start wishing morning sickness on yourself. It isn't compulsory! You can have a perfectly healthy baby without it.
Congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers

I didn’t have morning sickness with either of mine. A bit of nausea when I was hungry, but that was it. I think that probably started after at least 12 weeks, definitely not in the early days.

Aria2015 · 26/11/2021 12:06

7 / 8 weeks with both. Initially I had days where I felt ok (cue meltdown because I was worried something was wrong) and days when I felt rough. I was also mainly feeling rough from around 5pm onwards, so evening sickness rather than morning sickness. Suited me from a work perspective as easier to hide... I do know quite a few people who had no sickness though. My SIL felt bright as a button for the whole of her 9 months!

Nootherwilldo · 26/11/2021 12:06

Thanks all, that’s reassuring to hear. I read online it starts from 6 weeks so I started to panic. I guess I am only 6+1. I just don’t have much symptoms and keep panicking about a missed miscarriage.

I think I would still be happier if I got it just as reassurance. It’s vomiting versus extreme anxiety I guess. But it’s good to know it’s not necessarily starting this early or at all but all can still be well.

Congrats all on your pregnancies.

Never got any and never got sore boobs. Just pretty tired for a few months. That was both pregnancies.

Cas112 · 26/11/2021 12:08

Some women don't get morning sickness

Anordinarymum · 26/11/2021 12:08

The 'being sick' was what told me I might be pregnant, so I would say between 6 to 8 weeks and continued until 16 weeks when it stopped and I started to enjoy being pregnant.

It was the same with all three pregnancies. Non stop sick - not only mornings..........

sunsshineshowerss · 26/11/2021 12:11

4 pregnancies never had morning sickness

ShowOfHands · 26/11/2021 12:11

I didn't with my first. Didn't like brushing my teeth post 6 weeks and it made me gag but no real nausea or sickness.

With my second, I started vomiting at 11dpo and didn't stop until 23wks.

I've also had non viable pregnancies with textbook morning sickness.

This!! It’s bloody miserable and certainly, as mentioned, not compulsory… altho I do understand your worries. For me, it started at 5 weeks, being sick numerous times a day, unable to keep anything down and lasted that way until about 30 weeks. For the final 10 weeks, it was ‘just’ throwing up 2-3 times every day. That comes with worries of its own!
Bells3032 · 26/11/2021 12:20

never vomited. but nasea started mildly at about 6.5 weeks and badly at about 8

Erinrose82 · 26/11/2021 12:31

31 weeks and never had sickness! Didn't get away with having really low iron and other things though 😞

SingingSands · 26/11/2021 12:47

At 6 weeks with DD (when I suddenly thought "might I be pregnant?!") and not at all with DS.

sky25 · 26/11/2021 13:11

I'm 17 weeks and haven't had any sickness, just a bit of mild nausea. None at all with previous 2 pgs either.

FeloniusGru · 26/11/2021 15:09

Never. 2 successful pregnancies and zero symptoms in either other than the expanding stomach Grin

TH22 · 26/11/2021 15:21

A no symptom pregnancy for me!

auldmaw · 26/11/2021 15:32

Totally understand why you're anxious. I lost 4 pregnancies before having my son. The lack of symptoms can play with your head. I didn't experience morning sickness at all. As with a PP, my only real symptom in the first 12 weeks was fatigue.

firstimemamma · 26/11/2021 15:34

I never had even the faintest bit of sickness or nausea at all. Healthy 3 year old and 24 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. I read somewhere that morning sickness affects 80% of pregnant women. Obviously not completely accurate but u get the idea. You could just be lucky like me!

RedRobin100 · 26/11/2021 15:35

I’m 18 weeks with my second baby and have never once felt even nauseous with either!
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Cyw2018 · 26/11/2021 15:38

Nausea started at 5 weeks, vomiting at 8 weeks although it was delayed a bit by starting anti emetics at 6 weeks. In hindsight symptoms started before my period was late as I couldn't stop burping (to the point that it was distressing me). I had HG though, and was on anti emetics the entire pregnancy, so definitely not normal.
