I just wanted to create this thread as I got my BFP today! Due 1st August 2022. Looking forward to meeting other mums and mums to be! This is my second pregnancy, I have a DD who is 2.5 y/o and arrived at 39w 6d. I'm 31 and have been very lucky in my journey - no complications with DD and conceiving quickly, this one has taken a lot longer but I'm incredibly lucky to have had no MC/CP so far. Fingers crossed everything progresses nicely and looking forward to joining your journey!

Thank you so much! And congrats BeckyBabyx! I know how hard TTC can be. We were trying to conceive for two years.
Only symptom so far has been constipation for me! And an aversion to sweet things

ohmybaby · 18/12/2021 15:47

@toxitears181 so similar!! I’ve got a 2.5yo, exciting!!

Hi, I got my BFP last Saturday (11th Dec) and I think I'm around 8 weeks pregnant, so probably due at the very end of July. I haven't really felt any different so far and it was a shock to get the positive result (irregular periods so I didn't really suspect, and just did a test as it had been even longer than usual!), but we're very happy. I've just had my booking in appointment so far and have the first scan booked for mid January.

Rc1993 · 18/12/2021 17:25

Congratulations @ChildOfFriday! Is this your first baby? 🥰 I think I’m around 6 weeks no scan date yet! When did you ladies get your letters for scan? Might chase might up as it’s been about 2 weeks since I first contacted midwife!

graceyloren · 18/12/2021 17:30

I'm 5 weeks on Monday! Baby due August 22nd! Is anyone else terribly bloated? I know I'm not showing as baby is tiny but I've already had to go out an buy maternity leggings as nothing fits. I thought it'd go down but it hasn't even when I lay down it sticks out! It's also rock hard. Both my mum and sisters looked a lot further along when they've all been pregnant with their first so maybe it just runs in the family.

ChildOfFriday · 18/12/2021 17:34

Thank you @Rc1993! Congratulations to you too! Yes this is a first baby for me.

I think I was quite lucky with my scan as the appointment came up on the app I was given not long after I called the midwife last week to say I'd had my positive test, and I got the letter through the post a few days later. I've got no idea what's a normal time frame to get booked in though.

ChildOfFriday · 18/12/2021 17:42

I think I might have mixed up my terminology when I said I'd had my booking in appointment- I've had an appointment where they took bloods to test if I am a carrier for sickle cell anaemia or thalassemia, carbon monoxide test and height/weight check, but haven't had a phone call with a midwife yet, which is booked for early January.

Rc1993 · 18/12/2021 17:54

@graceyloren congratulations! I’m about 6 weeks I think and actually been fine up until today- had a terrible migraine and also been sick but not sure if it’s pregnancy related or due to the migraine! Probs preg related - also feeling very bloated and think I’ll show sooner due to being second baby.

@ChildOfFriday ah I see what you mean! My booking appointment is on 30th December! How have you been feeling?x

ChildOfFriday · 18/12/2021 17:57

@Rc1993 I've been feeling ok so far. I haven't really been feeling sick in the mornings, maybe just slightly when brushing my teeth. My mum said she had the nausea slightly later in pregnancy though so I may have that to come!

henrysroadprimrose2021 · 18/12/2021 19:45

So sorry I’m American — all I’ve done is contact my Gp so far who just sent me a self referral form to a hospital. I haven’t heard from a midwife or about any scans yet! Am I missing something?

henrysroadprimrose2021 · 18/12/2021 19:46

The first scan I’ve booked is private, not on NHS

nattergal · 18/12/2021 19:51

Hello all, I've been TTC since August and got a BFP today! I'm only due my period in 3 days so still very very early days. I used a clearblue digital test-do they ever give false positives? Freaking out slightly as DH is away tonight picking up his mum to stay with us over Christmas and she'll be here for a couple of weeks so I'm not really sure when the best time is going to be to tell him, and how to excuse to everyone that I'm not on the booze over Christmas! I have a 3.5 year old and am now also having mum guilt that my estimated due date would be the week he starts school. But still early days, anything could happen-I just needed to tell someone as I'm home alone and need to get it out!!

Kelly101810 · 18/12/2021 19:56

Hi all,
First baby, it happened very quickly although planned, based in Wanstead, London, due early august. Would love to know peoples thoughts on early scans? I can’t imagine waiting another 5 weeks, feels like time is going slowly!! Would love to meet others in the same position.

Rrrob · 18/12/2021 20:00

Can I join? I got a surprise bfp on tuesday. Due date 23 Aug. I haven’t told DH yet…

Glago2017 · 18/12/2021 20:51

Can I join please, due around the 19th Aug and this will be my 2nd. Got a DD who has just turned 4.
@nattergal I'm the same, due around the week my daughter starts school. X

Rc1993 · 18/12/2021 23:01

Ladies what are you all thinking on the boosters? I’ve had both vaccines but feel so nervous about getting the booster this early in my pregnancy. Think I’ll chat to my midwife

ChildOfFriday · 18/12/2021 23:14

I had mine a few days ago @Rc1993. I was also hesitant and asked what it was best to do when I rang to say I was pregnant, and was told that they strongly advise having it ASAP. I definitely understand the uncertainty though.

graceyloren · 18/12/2021 23:17

I'm not getting mine till after 12 weeks just to be safe and put my mind at ease xx

SantiagoSister · 18/12/2021 23:22

Hi all, would love to join if that’s ok. Due August 10th, very anxious due to previous loss but hoping things could work out differently this time 🤞🏼
