I had a scan and the abdominal circ was measuring off the scale - not even plottable on the little chart. Babys femur however was measuring smaller than the 50th and the head and other measurements were on/around 50th (I haven’t got exact measurements sorry!!) at 36 weeks baby was estimated at 7lbs so I’m now having a section at bang on 39 weeks.

Just wondered if you were told something similar whether you did go on to have a ‘bigger’ baby? Both my others were less than 7lbs so I suppose an estimated 9lbs ish at time is bigger for me?

Yep. My younger 5 have all been big on scans and at birth.
2nd was 10lb 12oz @ 40+5, 3rd 9lb 10oz @ 40+2, 4/5th twins 8lb 5oz & 8lb 11oz @ 38, 6th 10lb 15oz @ 38+6. Our 1st was a very average 7lb 7oz @ 39+6.

I was told ds was measuring big- they estimated 9lb11 at 38 weeks. The bigger issue was his head circumference which was right at the top of the charts-hydrocephalus was mentioned. Having told me this they offered me a c section which I gladly took. He turned out to be 8lb 11 and indeed had a very large head (runs in the family). He's now 16 and 6'1" and this head has gotten no smaller.

They were worried about my first child but the opposite way - I had growth scans as they worried about her being too small and struggling to grow. They were talking about possibly inducing because her birth weight was estimated at 5 and a half lbs

When she was born at 42 weeks she was a totally average size at 8lb 15oz and not small at all, she fit into some tiny baby clothes but mostly normal newborn size

I hope all is well for you OP

Yes. My first was 10lbs 4 when born (via section) at 37 weeks. I measured bigger with my second (9lb 14 at 38 weeks) because of more fluid.
But thank goodness I measured big as the midwife then sent me to have glucose tolerance test - I had GD and now Type 1. No other symptoms other than measured big.

I had the opposite but I guess the same concept - I was told my baby was small and she was 6 pound 9! Which I thought was a good weight

I was told she’d be 9.5-10lb and she came out at 11lb 7oz. People were telling me that they get growth scans wrong all the time but just looking at me I was absolutely massive, there was no mistaking she was huge. I’m tiny as well!

Yes, I knew DC4 was going to be big so they got me in for a growth scan and she measured 3 weeks ahead, she was born by CS at 39 weeks weight 10lb 7.5oz and the biggest of them all

Predicted 10 lbs, came out (6 weeks later) 6.5 lbs.

Friend was told (scan a few days before) to expect a 5lber and baby actually was 7.5 lbs.

I don't have a lot of faith in the predictions.
