‘19 with my first, 23 with my second, 24 with my third. 29 now and in menopause so no more kids’

You must be soo thankful you started early!

Winecurestiredness · 01/10/2021 17:12

@HadEnoughofOtherThreads oh yes definitely. I always wanted to be a mother I knew from a young age. My third did die neonatally so although I am so greatful I started early I really felt far too young to deal with that sort of greif...

Rizzoli123 · 01/10/2021 19:38

I was 29 and 31

37, 38 and 41.

Greytminds · 01/10/2021 22:01

37 and 41. If things had gone to plan and I hadn’t had fertility issues and four miscarriages it would have been more like 33 and 36. I do feel a bit old this time around. On the postnatal ward I was over a decade older than the next oldest mum!

Cyclewidow46 · 01/10/2021 22:02

VienneseWhirligig · 02/10/2021 07:32

Just turned 21 when he was born. Had several more pregnancies in my 20s but they didn't stick.

Bloody hell, so many of you started really young.

I had mine at 40 and 43. Far too old. I don't recommend it Grin

I really would advise people to start young and get your kids out of the way. 40s is a brilliant age to start on a new phase of projects and ambitions (and relationships...), so have your kids grown up and pissed off by then to give you the time to do it!

Not like me Grin

I thought that as well, I know very few people who had DC in their 20s. But unlike you I'm glad I had my kids old, I'm 50 now and have colleagues a few years older who are in the decline towards retirement whereas I have just come out of the small child stage and have gone back to FT work so I can concentrate on work for the next few years, I've had 2 promotions since my youngest started school. I'm not a big fan of early retirement though, plan to work as long as I can but I guess I'm lucky that I do an interesting and meaningful job.

Mammyofasuperbaby · 03/10/2021 09:00

22 with my first, lost 3 babies between 24 and 25 and then found out about my last baby on my 26th birthday

Mammyofasuperbaby · 03/10/2021 09:04

I'm glad I had my young as I've had dangerous and complicated pregnancies. My youth helped me recover quickly and was a major factor in me surviving.
If I was in my 40s I probably would have died in my first pregnancy
