hello,

I have been on hold to my triage for nearly an hour now, they must be really busy this morning.

in the mean time I'm trying not to worry too much as I've felt baby move. I am nearly 28 weeks.

I have been having blood flecked mucus since last night but this morning its ramped up to this (picture). my mum said she doesnt think it's too concerning and she would probably just keep an eye on it, would you go in to be checked?

is this concerning? pic warning.

I would get checked. It looks like it’s part of your mucus plug. It can regrow but I’d want to be sure I wasn’t getting ready to go into early labour.

Needingsupportplease · 01/09/2021 11:01

Id go get checked too just for peace of mind x

Nc4post99 · 01/09/2021 11:02

I would 100% go in and get checked. Tbh I’d jump in a taxi and keep calling triage on the way but I’d head there just in case.

It probably is nothing, but it’s always better to check! X

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 11:03

I spoke to them initially when I woke up but because it was only pink at the time they said it was normal.

however that is very red looking isnt it :(

Is there anyone to look after your little one, if not I’d bring them.

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 11:09

I'm hoping my partner is able to leave work early but he is about 40 minutes away. MIL works around the corner, I am hoping she will be able to go on lunch early/take an extended lunch.

still not through to the triage yet. currently third in que.

Definitely keep calling to let them know it's changed since this morning. I think they'd probably get you in for a check anyway because it's progressed so I'd be tempted to just head down there and explain that you couldn't get through. Hopefully it's nothing but always best to get checked out! 🤞

ShowOfHands · 01/09/2021 11:13

If the queue to speak to somebody is too long, I'd perhaps just head in for a check too.

HereWeGoAgain24 · 01/09/2021 11:16

I would deffo go in to get checked but my gut would say everything is probably fine, especially if you're still feeling baby move.
I agree with a PP, it does look like your mucus plug and my main concern would be going into early labour.

Hand hold OP ThanksI'm sure baby is safe and happy in there, but they never stop worrying you! Grin

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 11:23

they've said about putting a pad on and monitoring it which I'm a bit :/ about because it's been constant since yesterday and I haven't had sex or had any kind of internal which couldn't caused it. sigh.

@Candycotton I would go in and get checked. Please go in. If you’re in early labour steroid shots will make a huge difference to your baby.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/09/2021 11:27

I'd go in. Saying that I had similar all the way through my pregnancy and it was nothing sinister and all was fine. It was checked everytime though.

Nc4post99 · 01/09/2021 11:28

I’d just state you are really worried and you’d like to be checked.

I thought the pad thing was for waters?

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 11:31

shes put me on hold again now, been nearly 10 minutes so not sure if she is maybe checking with the hospital I'm registered at as to whether I actually should go in.

IncessantNameChanger · 01/09/2021 11:32

I would just go in and let them see. Worring at home isnt helping anyone.

I do think we get brushed off a lot in pregnancy. Like my first baby. I was pushing one hour after my labour started and I walked into hospital 8cm dilated. Everyone was very shocked both times.

Spysolation · 01/09/2021 11:37

I’d go in

Horehound · 01/09/2021 11:39

It looks like mucus plug to me but I agree with others you should go get checked.

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 11:48

she said my hospital have asked me to go in to be checked, so on way now.

really hoping it isnt pre term labour or anything. I'm not quite 28 weeks yet :'(

All the best OP x

Blueskies3 · 01/09/2021 11:50

Fingers crossed for you, OP. Please keep us updated.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 01/09/2021 11:53

Fingers crossed for you OP. That definitely looks like mucus plug though. You're going to the best place. X

lovelybitofsquirrell · 01/09/2021 11:58

All the best op. sending positive thoughts to you.

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 11:59

can it grow back if it mucus plug?

OP posts:
MyGrassIsBrowner · 01/09/2021 12:04

@Candycotton it does grow back usually but the fact there's a big streak of blood in there would be what's concerning me. Mine looked exactly like that before I went into labour.
The hospital may give you an internal or scan you though to check your cervix I would think. As I say though, you're going to the best place. please keep us updated, we're all here to chat 😊💖
