hello,

I have been on hold to my triage for nearly an hour now, they must be really busy this morning.

in the mean time I'm trying not to worry too much as I've felt baby move. I am nearly 28 weeks.

I have been having blood flecked mucus since last night but this morning its ramped up to this (picture). my mum said she doesnt think it's too concerning and she would probably just keep an eye on it, would you go in to be checked?

Yes mucous plug builds up again

Rainbowroadx · 01/09/2021 12:21

Wishing you luck @Candycotton, glad they're checking you and I hope all is well Flowers

That does look like mucous plug and it can be totally normal for it to be blood tinged, so I wouldn't necessarily class it as "bleeding", but definitely a good idea to get checked out.

You go in and get checked ask to see matron

I wouldn't take that as normal at all

lolateddy · 01/09/2021 13:35

Wishing you good luck op xx

weve heard him and he sounds okay. they did find leukocytes in urine but I have had thrush for most of this pregnancy which is likely what that is.

waiting on the doctor to come and check cervix and do the swab tests to check for waters etc. and then a scan to make sure nothing else is going on.

@Candycotton Hope scan comes back positive lovely. Hand hold for you anyway Flowers

I had something similar, I'm 33 weeks, had thrush treated with cream and pesaries and for 2 mornings towards the end I had similar discharge. Was told it was probably the thrush, I might have scratched in the night.

It cleared up on its own, I've had no other symptoms and she is still moving as normal.

It's always a worry though.

cultkid · 01/09/2021 16:17

How are you doing xxx

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 17:09

Hey,

Everything looked fine, no signs of pre term labour as cervix closed and the swab they do came back negative to check for waters and something else that they can tell if you're likely to give birth soon? not too sure what it was but anyway both came back negative thankfully!

On examination they said they could only see what they consider 'normal' looking discharge. So quite possibly it's down to the thrush infection i've had for ages irritating everything or it could just be where everything is so swollen down there anyway and everything is naturally a bit more sensitive.

Been told to keep an eye on it and ring again if i'm concerned. Glad I went to get checked though!

@Candycotton That's such a relief so pleased for you! X

Candycotton · 01/09/2021 22:17

thanks, still having the bloody mucus occasionally when going to the toilet but as they couldnt see anything obvious causing it I guess I will just have to keep an eye on it! x

@Candycotton definitely keep an eye but I would say if they're sure your cervix is closed then baby is nice and cosy up there and not coming anytime soon! Just keep an eye on any pains going forward. I hope your thrush clears up though, I remember that with my DD (thankfully haven't suffered this time touch wood) but it's blumming awful. X
