Hi.
I am a long term member of MN but haven't posted for years.
My daughter's best friend is about 34 weeks pregnant (her being my daughter's bf is relevant if you know my back story)

This is an ivf baby. Her chances of getting pregnant and staying pregnant were very low. To be honest I don''t think any of us thought she would go to term. She is trying to stay as calm as possible but its a difficult pregnancy. I think she is doing brilliantly in the circumstances.
She is getting confusing messages about how long she will be allowed to go over her due date.
She was told by her IVF hospital that she wouldn't be allowed to go over. She was likely to be induced slight early if anything.
Her birthing hospital (not a specialist hospital) is bemused at this and said as she is young (29) it won't make any difference that its an IVF baby.
She was told yesterday that the baby is a bit small.
Her mum never went to term with her pregnancies. So they don't have family experience of 'normal' birth.
I have no experience of IVF or caesarean or inducing. I had my four birth children more or less on time with no intervention.

Does anyone have any advice to give?

It’s so frustrating having all this conflicting advice.

I am consultant led because of IVF pregnancy. Had my first consultant appt at 18 weeks and when I mentioned the placenta failure/induction he looked at me like I was mad and said that this only applies for ivf pregnancies in women over 40. He certainly didn’t put my mind to rest though given how many ivf pregnancies in women under 40 are induced!

Update.
Baby is still breech.
Consult has booked her in for an elective c section.
I have no experience of this but grandma has so might stop telling me how little help she is going to be! She will be an amazing grandma.

Baby is coming soon!
Thank you all again for generously sharing your experiences with me. they have been really helpful.

The actual still birth rates are really small they increase ever so slightly it is an increase but not much and from the studies they don't actually o when the baby was stillborn (e.g well before the 40 week mark) I'm pregnant with my second ivf baby unless there's other issues she doesn't have to be induced the increased risks are usually due to twin pregnancies older mothers etc, I was 26 with my first and 31 now with my second (male factor) my consultant had a chat with me and said she's happy to let me stay on midwife care and she's got me in at 36 weeks to check on me and give me the option to be induced if I wanted to, if she doesn't want to don't let her be pressured into it I'll attach a good link with the findings from a hospital from the research, they don't find any good reason to induce just because your ivf.
