2nd Pfizer after 3 weeks?

I’ve just read there are some walk in vaccination opening tomorrow but I only had my Pfizer 3 weeks ago at 29 weeks pregnant. I’ll check with the 119 covid info but I’m seeing if there are any other pregnant people that have had theirs that close together? Xx

Just posting/placemarking as I had my first dose 7 weeks ago and wanted to get the second in before third trimester which is very soon for me, I've been told to wait for the GP to call but I'm tempted to just crack on and book and it's really good to see posters having success with doing that so thank you for sharing 🙂

How have people got on with second doses of Pfizer btw? One of my reasons for wanting to get it done soon is I want to have any side effects while I'm still feeling fairly spritely 😂 I only had sore arm after first but have heard the second is more likely to make you feel crap for Pfizer?

Go to your local ccg (clinical commissioning group page). It will list all the walk-ins with details on which vaccine they offer and the requirements. Some say they will only give a 2nd dose after 8 weeks but others don't. I got mine 4 weeks after my first dose, at 28 and 32 weeks.

I did have to stand in a queue for an hour though Confused

@8dpwoah I didn't get any symptoms at all after my second Pfizer dose - my arm wasn't even a fraction as sore as after the first one. None of my colleagues (NHS) had any issues after the second one either, so hopefully you're experience will be similar 🤞

@8dpwoah 24h after the second dose of Pfizer and feeling very well. I didn't get any side effects after the first one (except a slightly sore arm for a day). A few hours after my second dose my arm was just a bit sore but it was barely noticeable, that's itSmile

@8dpwoah I had a god damn sore arm after both and I stupidly got my left arm jabbed for my 2nd dose so sleeping whilst heavily pregnant was hilariously awkward. Was fine the next day though!

I’ve been looking up the efficacy of jabs being given with longer delays and it does look like the UK believe that there are higher antibodies after a 12 week delay although the US say that they believe they reach 94/95% efficacy after just 21 days with the Pfizer so who knows?? It seems that there is a general rule of thumb that if you’re medically vulnerable then just get the jab as soon as possible which may mean a 3rd booster jab 6 months down the line but it’ll mean you’ve got good protection quicker.

Being in my 3rd trimester I see myself as medically vulnerable so I’m glad to have received my 2nd Pfizer after 21 days and hopefully I’ll be producing enough antibodies to share with the bub before she makes an appearance! Xxx

Glad to hear th majority seems to be just another sore arm (good tip about avoiding the left!). I've been on the system and booked my second dose successfully but it's a few weeks off so if my GP calls me in before then I'll take it and free up the generic slot for someone else.
