im 32 wks now with my second child and felt like ive been slowing down for ages. This morning i went into town for a few hours whilst lo was at pre-school to do some xmas shopping and couldnt belive how hard i found it walking around the shops.MY back was killing me-my stomach muscles were tightening-not to mention i had extreme shopping rage for anyone getting in my way

About 3 weeks ago. I'm 32 weeks as well and am finding walking around such a struggle. I didn't expect to develop the pregnant waddle quite so soon!

I also can't do anything in the kitchen as annoyingly (or not!) I find that the sink is just at the right height to really aggravate my back.

Mercy · 16/11/2007 14:59

Around the same time I think.

With my first I managed to do a full week's shop on my own 4 days before she born.

rosebud1980 · 16/11/2007 15:42

weird isnt it i wonder if its because this is my second or whether its because im 27 this time and not 24. I remember playing badminton and dh making me run around like a looney!

I'm 31 weeks and struggling if that's any good. I can't believe what I can't do any more! Get this, I even avoid nipping out sometimes because I can't stand struggling to put on my shoes. Those are bad days though.

Isn't this just the way our bodies tell us to chill out before the baby comes? Please say that it is. God, it is only when I lay on the bed that I feel completely comfy.

conception!

I hate pregnancy so much (why oh why am I on my 3rd???) I am never comfortable, never really happy and I cant wait to get this baby out.

Im 38+4 now and pretty much immobile.... even driving takes effort.

mixedmama · 16/11/2007 16:21

from about 25 weeks this time... seem to have ballooned much quicker and baby seems to like to kick me and prod me alot more than DS, plus this time have all the symptoms.... heartburn, cramps etc which i got away with last time.

Am 34 weeks now

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/11/2007 16:24

I felt ok until the end - although I've only had one pregnancy which I should imagine makes a big difference, as no other lo to run around after.

Also, ds never fully enagaged so I didn't get the whole - I feel like somethings going to fall out of my fanjo at any minute sensation!

tigana · 16/11/2007 16:27

The last 4-6 weeks were pretty bad for me. I was exhausted. Oh, and the pain across lower stomach if I did too much walking around etc.
I worked until about a fortnight before due date, would come home and fall asleep on the sofa for hours.

MrsMcJnr · 16/11/2007 16:28

Rosebud funnily enough, I felt like that for the first time today, I'm 31+3 and had to walk quite far to get to a shop at lunchtime, when I got there, I was so damn hot in there due to the heating that I thought I'd pass out and got extremely grumpy

Naetha · 16/11/2007 16:58

I'm giving up about now (friday afternoon at nearly 34 weeks!)

lljkk · 16/11/2007 17:01

It was a huge struggle between ~8-14 weeks when I had terrible morning sickness. The rest was easy peasy (by comparison), all the way up to a few hours before birth.

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 08:21

Naetha - jealous of you giving up now. Only two more weeks for me and counting.

buzzybee · 19/11/2007 08:28

I think a lot of people feel like they're hitting a wall some time around 30 weeks. I think its physical as well as psychological. Something about feeling really heavy and at the same time knowing you still have to get through another 10 weeks, seems like an eternity.
Funnily enough at about 35 weeks I seemed to turn a corner and am now looking forward to her coming and feels like I'm on the homeward straight (due date 31 days away and counting!)

lailasmum · 19/11/2007 08:40

With my first pregnancy I found I was fairly mobile all the way through but this time its been the complete opposite, had bad morning sickness till 18 weeks then felt ok until about 26 weeks and am now struggling with physical things, am just not as strong and get tired really easy and have back ache.

mum2bejan · 19/11/2007 09:12

I've hit 30 weeks and suddenly feel really pregnant. Lack of sleep, heaviness, feeling huge.... you get the picture! Had an absolutely trouble free pregnancy so far so feel terrible for complaining but 10 weeks more of this does feel like an eternity.

itwasntme · 19/11/2007 09:19

First pregnancy: I was super fit, and apart from pain in my lower abdomen when I walked too far I was fine up to 38 weeks. (I gave birth at 39).

This time round has been hellish since 7 months. I'm 39 weeks now and just cannot take anymore. I've had it all... chronic heartburn, debilitating headaches, insomnia, anaemia and I'm older and dealing with a very active pre-schooler. I feel so week and ill-prepared to give birth. Boohoo.

VictorianSqualor · 19/11/2007 09:29

Straight away this time!
First time I used to walk miles, right up until I had DD at 32weeks, 2nd pregnancy I used to go out every week with ym friends and sit in the pub til all hours, with nothing but coke to keep me awake, now third rpegnancy, I have wanted it to be over since the very beginning! I just want to sleep, all the time, I have no energy for anything. I'm only 20weeks!

rosebud1980 · 20/11/2007 13:56

Im so glad that its not just me-i feel when i complain everyone just looks at you as if to say your only 7mths! I felt fitter when i was 9mths pregnant with my first then i do with this one. And yes it does seem like an eternity-i think its the fear that your are going to feel worse but by then least we will be nearly 9mths pregnant and then we may entitled to a bit of sympathy. Another thing that does my head in is people cant seem to uderstand why im struggling when i dont look that big-but ive still put on over 2 stone and have a hyperactive toddler to run around after and my husband is away til two wks before my due date grrrrrrr

Anarchymummy · 20/11/2007 15:29

I'm glad i'm not the only one feeling like this!
I'm almost 37 weeks now and really feeling it,Pregnancy seemed to go really fast up till 32 weeks and now it seems iv'e been pregnant forever.
I'm literally counting down the days to my due date, lol half out of excitement half out of just wanting it to be over
I don't think having SPD helps.I just feel so huge and heavy and can't walk very far which makes me feel worse
Sick of the heartburn!!!!!

MabelMay · 20/11/2007 16:21

Oh God, I'm finding this pregnancy so much tougher than my first!
Am 30 weeks now but have felt knackered and in pain for about the last 5 weeks. In my last pregnancy I breezed through the bulk of it - went for huge long country walks at 36 weeks etc etc.
Now, every little walk, every trip, every physical thing I have to do is a struggle. I can't even cook that much because standing up for too long for any period really kills my back. But then, so does sitting here at my computer! I feel most comfortable on all fours!
Don't know how I will cope when I'm really, really big towards the end. Especially with my DS who is 21 months.
MMx

MuffinMclay · 20/11/2007 16:33

In the past week or so (at 28/29 weeks). Days are fine, but by the evening I am so tired and grumpy, and can't get comfortable anywhere or in any position (which makes me even grumpier). Plus heartburn, strange random pains, breathlessness, sleeplessness.

I can't face another 12 weeks feeling like this. Last time I was taking 2 dogs for long country walks twice a day until 38 weeks. Not this time.

daisynova · 20/11/2007 16:35

I'm on my first pregnancy and I have been struggling since 8 weeks. Along with morning sickness, high blood pressure, migraines, type 1 diabetes, back pain, breathlessness and now a kidney infection - I feel awful and tired permanently. I have been off work more than I have been at it and everything just makes me cry. I am not having another baby if this doesn't get any better soon - I am 21 weeks tomorrow.

sabinar · 20/11/2007 20:54

I was doing great until I sprained my ankle last week... it's taking ages to heal and is v painful, that combined with being more or less housebound is driving me mental. (Still working though as I work from home mostly). Just about to tick over to 33 weeks, so I'm hoping the ankle will heal soon and I'll be back to good again. Way too long to go to continue being mental!

beansprout · 20/11/2007 20:58

I'm also finding the second time around a lot harder too. Am 30 weeks and grinding to a halt. The flights of stairs on my commute to work are going to finish me off...!

Ernestina · 21/11/2007 16:05

I'm so glad to hear others feel awful too! I'm 31 weeks now and had had enough around a month ago. I'm not supposed to be finishing work till Christmas, but strongly considering jacking it all in much sooner. Really can't stand another two months of this - unable to do anything really and husband isn't much help. I think I will soon be living on toast as barely have the energy to cook when I get in from work. Long list of complaints - exhaustion, heartburn, leg cramps, virtually incontinent, visiting bathroom five times a night, random 4am insomnia, emotional wreck, house is a complete mess, not functioning properly at work... etc etc.

On a positive note, I can't wait to have the baby - really hoping it comes early - surely sleepless nights and breastfeeding can't be any worse than how I feel right now!!!
